Royal Mail say they would aim to deliver within 5 days...

The usual answer for International mail is 5 working days (or 5-7 days when you factor in weekends). Sometimes the mail delivery can be much faster, so could arrive in 3 days (1 day for sorting the in UK, 1 day for flying to Australia, 1 day for sorting and delivery in Australia).

Certain busy periods, such as Christmas, can delay your mail for weeks.

The biggest delay is usually sorting when the mail arrives. So Australia Post say mail in a city will be delivered the next day. But if the mail arrives in Sydney then has to go to another smaller town or city then you will have a few more days delay.

In summary, if you are lucky 3 days, but up to 7 days, with some mail arriving (believe it not, over 100 years after it has been sent).

No idea what "sellers standard international" is. I allow 7 days to get mail from the UK which has been sent using the ordinary Royal Mail. Look at it this way - they all use the same aeroplane, so they are all going to take pretty much the same time.

I send to Australia all the time and it is about 5/6 days, getting it signed for or Airsure makes no difference.

I always allow 7 calendar days.
This seems to work pretty well, and goes with the 5 working days theory.
