pride does get in the way of many things and while the original idea of "Sunday best" was so as to be honoring to God.,pride has gotten in the way much of the time in that. Pride seems to be one of the"gateway sins" that lead to most of the others.

Well, I think it's more self-awareness that causes people to want to change their weight. And at my church, we wear whatever. I wear jeans and a t-shirt. Other people dress up, but some just go casual. And even Christians sin. And lazieness is sloth. Not gluttony. Gluttony is eating when you're not hungry / just because. But we get forgiveness from our sins through Jesus Christ. You should try it. It's awsome.

We avoid sin because it separates us from God. So if we “fixed” gluttony by replacing it with pride there is no spiritual progress. If we are guilty of gluttony only God can truly fix the problem. As for our Sunday best…God doesn’t care what you wear to church and if the church cares they need to reread the NT. As for what allows us to do the day’s tasks…if you are doing it out of love for God and love for neighbor there isn’t pride in that. You don’t have to take pride in your actions to still give your best - just do them as if you are (because you are) doing them for God.

If pride is what motivates you to do those things, you'll burn out. Pride is one reason people do it, but pride is not the only way to get them done.
You could do "self-improvement" out of a sense of responsibility. You have to keep yourself in working order to carry out the responsibilities God gives us.
Dressing your "Sunday best" may be a matter of giving of your best to God. It could come from a desire to be respectful of God and others. Really, if you have a best, what else would you use it for that wouldn't be prideful? I don't think it's right to try to outdo others in the fashion department, but I don't see anything wrong with putting on the best of what you have when you go to church - unless it causes you to compare yourself to others who have less.
What keeps pride at bay is being grateful to the One Who gave you your talents and abilities and opportunities. It's hard to be prideful and honestly grateful at the same time.
I don't think it's wrong to be pleased when you do something well. I think we are supposed to judge our own work and improve on it. But it's with the knowledge that God gave us the talents and they are for His service.
There is a such thing as false humility - which ironically is a form of pride. That's when you pretend that you don't really think much of yourself so that others will praise you.
Keeping God central to your thoughts is ultimately the answer.

When the bible speaks of pride being sinful, it is referring to haughty pride. Haughtiness is something more like arogance.
Also, as far as laziness, well, if you are lazy, the dirty dishes will pile up and you will lose your job.
You should lose weight if you are fat because it is unhealthy to be overweight. The body is the Lords temple, so we are supposed to treat it right.
Hope this helps.

You better take care of yourself so you can to the Lord's work. Your body is a temple where His spirit can dwell if we are willing to let him in and we should take care of that body.
Sunday best dress shows respect for our Father in Heaven. I think some people can take it to the level of pride, but if they do, then that would be a bad thing they need to work on, but it wouldn't be for you to judge them.
You just need to make sure YOU aren't guilty of those things.

Pride is a work of the flesh, you have to deny the flesh and crucify , mortify the flesh, destroy it, until the life of the spirit takes full reign and you will live in the spirit and not in the flesh
If you live in the flesh you will die, spiritually
Today dress is not an issue it is the hidden man of the heart
what is on the inside that counts

Not if you do them for the right reasons. Watching your weight to be healthy. Dressing nicely to honor God. Doing your tasks well, because that is the right thing to do.

It is hubris (excessive pride) that is a sin, not simple self-respect.
I think that you misunderstand what is meant here. Simply wanting to be your personal best is harmless and is encouraged; competition and comparison with other people is discouraged as a sin.
