Although I worker for several candidates runing for diferent positions... I'm running for the first time. You can also cover ideas as how to start getting volunteers fundraises, platform set up, etc. In short... I'll take any help that I can get.

Secure a form at the Election Office and file your certificate of candidacy thereat so that you run for the City Council. If there is no form, you just have to write your intention and show that you can finance the campaign with the support of a political party or network of people.

Go to the city and ask if there is an outline of what needs to be in the letter. Every city has its own thing going on so you want to make sure that you include everything they want to know in your letter. Your local city council should have all of that info for you too.

Go ask an ex-council member, they might be willing to help you write it too. They are interested in the good of your city still so they will be happy to help someone who is willing to be involved.

Good Luck

opps almost forgot, get family and friends and neighbors involved if you can, you probley need to open an account to pay bills from and put donations in. Go to your local bank and ask about that. Fundraisers: dinners with guest speakers, silent auctions (baskets are great for these bath baskets, nascar basket, kids basket, baby basket, movie night basket etc.....) are just two ideas I have right now

Again good luck
