Or tell a lie to yur parents and put a pistol in yur hand bag and wear a steel-waistcoat and go out of town to meet him. Dont'yu watch the news everyday?.. Good luck.

Is this the first time you are meeting this person?
Did you meet them online?
NEVER EVER lie to your family when you are meeting someone for the first time from the internet, especially if it is all the way out of town. This person could have given you a totally fake name, fake address, etcetera.
I know you probably don't think it would happen to you, but that is how thousands of people end up missing every year, and why internet predators continue to have success. No one ever think it could happen to them.
You should be darn sure you KNOW who it is you are meeting- this means with PROOF- if they want to meet you that bad they should have no problem e-mailing, faxing, mailing, whatever a copy of their driver's license, telling you their full address, and allowing a friend to call their residence while you are there to check on you. If you absolutely cannot resist, and decide to lie to your family, PLEASE take these safety precautions and leave all available info with your best friend so at least that way, if the person is crazy and kills you, your poor family and the police will at least hopfully have something to go on......

If I learned anything in life, it is that the truth will always get you further. If you are going meet someone you have never met before, you need to tell someone where you are going or at least bring someone. It is not safe to disappear without anyone knowing where you are and with a lie.
