The worst thing I ever saw while working at a major fast food chain was a woman throwing a cheeseburger, literally in my manager's face, because it had cheese on it. She had ordered a plain cheeseburger and was furious that the people in the kitchen had put cheese on it.
She had ordered nd I gave her all her food. She went and sat down. She came up about two seconds later and shoved the burger in my face. I was drying trays at the time, so I sort of yelped and jumped back, having not been expecting a burger to be thrust in my face.
"I ordered this plain," she said.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Is there something on it?" I had watched them make it, and knew there was nothing on it.
"What," she demanded, "is this." She pointed at the cheese.
"Um, cheese?" I said. At this point, I was beginning to wonder if she was joking, so I laughed a little.
"And what does this say?" she said pointing to the special order slip affixed to the wrapper.
"Plain?" I said.
"Does the cheese make it plain?"
At this time, my wonderful manager walked over. He had been listening and decided it was time to interviene.
"Is there a problem?" he asked. She repeated the whole thing for his benefit.
He suggested that maybe she should have ordered a plain hamburger, as cheese is standard on cheeseburgers, plain or no.
She screamed several obscenities and informed my manager and I that we would loose our jobs over the way we handled the situation, and threw the thing at his face. He ducked out of the way. He opened the register and slammed her $1.06 on the counter and told her to leave the store and never return.
My manager and I both kept our jobs.

This has happened to my boyfriend so many times. He hands the food to the customers at the place he works.
I used to work at Dunkin' Donuts, and you wouldn't believe how many times I was screamed at for a simple mistake.
We are all human, and people forget that.
The lady was unreasonable for yelling like that to the employee. She shouldn't have taken it that overboard. If she was that disgruntled, she could have spoken to a manager, inside the store.
I think people forget when they go to get food, that each meal is made by ONE team. If one person slips up, the whole team will be completely affected by it, and mistakes fo happen. It may have been the guys fault, or someone else that took the order falsly?!
I have looked at it the same way for a long time. Everyone that works, may be hassled by their bosses, and go through a lot of pressure themselves, always being the "underdog." As soon as they become a customer, and a "higher power" than they have the psychological mindset to blow off steam as they have been scolded all day..
That women should learn, hasn't anyone seen waiting before?? You don't f*** with people that make your food! The next time that she returns their, food may have been "altered" accidentally, if the employee recognizes her.

I work in a restaurant so I tend to feel REALLY bad for other servers when I see them dealing with a customer like that. I noticed that I can't be rude to servers anymore, no matter how bad the service is. Honestly, if everyone was required to work in a restaurant for at least two weeks, there would be less people like that broad you mentioned. I had this one customer who freaked out over fifty five cents and she wasn't even a regular. We had to raise our prices because we weren't making much profit because the cost of food had gone up while our prices didn't. She decided she wanted to be immature and cuss at me. The thing is, she embarassed herself before anyone else could. There were other people in my place at the time and she looked so dumb, getting all angry and complaing that she "has to go get a f*cking quarter from her f*cking car" and storming out like we'd doubled our prices or something. If you had said something like that to me after that lady left, it would've made my day too. :)
Wouldn't it be funny if the broad you mentioned and the stupid lady I mentioned were the same person? ^___^

I do understand what you are talking about. BTDT! However, I have also been on the other side. I was behind one lady who ordered one meal- burger, fries, and a drink. This drive-through is notorious for making people pull forward and wait up to 30 minutes while they take care of everyone who's in line. I ordered one meal- burger, fries, and a drink. When the lady in front of me got to the window, they asked her to pull forward. They had no customers inside. I was the only other car in line. There was no reason for it. About that time, three cars got in line behind me. When I got to the window, she asked me to pull forward. I asked if they were cooking fries. She said no. I said that I thought I'd just wait right there then. In under one minute, the shift manager had slammed my food into a bag and handed me the bag saying some really nasty things to me. Now, if the food was ready, why was it I was supposed to pull forward??? I called and talked to the store manager the next day. Not only did the shift manager lose her job over the incident, I was told to bring my entire family in for a meal, dessert and all, on the house.
That's the reason people get upset at drive up windows.

I was at a drive through in a tourist town in Arkansas. The restaurant got slammed on the inside by multiple tour buses at the same time, so we waited in the drive through for thirty minutes. To make matters worse the woman in the vehicle in front of us screamed at the poor boy taking the money, then moved up to the service window and yelled at the poor girl handing her food. She then asked to speak to a manager and told the lady that the girl had used profane language and she wanted her fired. The angry lady was told to move up and go inside. We got to the service window and the lady was still screaming at the manager, holding everyone up even longer. I felt so sorry for those kids just trying to make money during the summer. It wasn't their fault everyone wanted to eat there at the same time.

Before I worked retail, I actually liked humanity as a whole.
Since then I've had my fair share of rude customers. One experience that sticks out is this one. My co-worker is kinda chubby, not really overweight, just a little chubby. She's ringing some people up and I decided to open a register to ring up some people to make the line go down. This guy jumps into my line and says to me loudly (and everyone around, including my co-worker, could clearly hear what he said), "Yeah, she's so goddamn slow. That's why she's fat, she's too slow. You're skinny." Blank stares all around.

You know what doesn't make sense? If you've been going there for 10 years and they still don't get your order right why would you continue to go there? Just sounds like a miserable person that just likes to *****. I don't waste my time getting angry about things I can't control especially with drive-through workers. This past year for Christmas I wanted to make someone not only smile, but know they are appreciated for not only the job they do but making my day sometimes. I don't frequent too many fast food places anymore because of the attitudes and slowness of them. There is a Wendy's close to my home and a lady name Dixie that is an elderly lady that no matter what day, time of day etc she is always cheerful, happy and a pleasure to talk to. Since I've been there before and am in turn as pleasant to her knowing it will always be returned I do frequent this drive-through and she always says "oh, hi!" and as insignifigant as that may sound it makes my day. So anyways, this past Christmas I bought 5 boxes of Hershey's Gold boxes of chocolates and I took alot of time wrapping them beautifully. On hers I didn't sign my name but only stated that this was a gift from someone that not only appreciates her smile, but also that even when she may herself be having a bad day always seems to make my day.........so instead of dwelling on those negative driver-through workers, appreciate the good ones and acknowledge them............it will make their day too. =D

i am a cashier at a food place. i deal with this **** everyday. luckly i have the utmost patience for it. every day i have people bickering over minute amounts of change. there have been times i have had up to five witnesses say i am the one who is right about a particular situation, and the customer STILL argues with me. two managers once were trying to fix another register, and heard me take a whole order, repeat it back to the customer, and watched me hand out the order. the customer picked THEN when they had the food in their hand and two people had heard the order being taken, and repeated back to the customer to check that everythign had been put in the register correctly to tell me they didnt want cheese and wanted the 40cents extra it costs for cheese back. my manager told them "i heard you give her the order, i heard her repeat it back, and no where in there did you say you didnt want cheese"....ugh. its a pain. i try really hard to put anyone else through that when i go to a resturant

Whenever I buy tickets for a concert, there is always some stupid customer who strikes up a conversation with the person at the ticket counter and keeps talking about his or her favorite music while everybody in the line is impatiently waiting. Such customers are not only rude, they are immoral because they think only about themselves.

No I've never experienced such a thing, thank god for that, I just think first come first served. I shouldn't matter that she has been coming for 10 yrs or not, I don't like people who push in front of a que that gets me so mad and I always make sure that I get them embarrassed.
