I have these all the time, even when I was a little girl. In life I have no urge to be a man nor am I gay, if that helps.

Having dreams that you're a man could mean that you either think you are what man represents or wanting to be what man represents. You've ruled out the other obvious possibilities with your comments, so you might want to explore these. I think what matters most in our dreams is the feelings we have regarding them, more than actual content sometimes. So how did you feel as a man in your dream? Powerful, scared, in-charge, expected too much of, disgusted, etc. Do you enjoy the dreams? Are you happy as a man in your dreams? If so, what made you happy about it? If you were not, say if you hated yourself in the dream... why? I don't know enough about your dream to make any kind of an accurate evaluation of it's meaning... but take this for example of the thought process: If you hated yourself in the dream, have you been hurt severly by a man or several? If so, what was your role in leading up to that hurt? Perhaps you were hurt by a man and have the 'victim' role bestowed upon you in real life, but deep down, you haven't dealt with your role in leading up to that hurt... so you're putting yourself in the agressor position in the dream.
Do you like yourself in the dream? If so, why? Are you from a family or society that places greater value on men or 'male' qualities? If so, it could come down to jealousy and feelings of unequality and unfairness.
Do you feel empowered to do more in your dream than you feel able to do in real life? Are you raising a family alone or are you the bread-winner? Do you feel that too much is placed on your shoulders?
These are just examples of ways to analize the dream, 'cause ultimately, you're going to have to figure out what it all means for yourself.

I have recurring dreams and between you, me and the readers I always wonder if some of the places I dream about are from past lives. I mean, who really knows? And they are such nice dreams. Maybe you are remembering a past life and you were a man. In my dreams I usually never see me or think about who I am. I usually enjoy the trip through the different places. Or maybe I just want to take a vacation? I'll vote for both.
