Ask his Indian address , phone no. , etc & the same of all his relatives & friends in India & of at least 5 neighbours too & nearest post office/s. In India people have big families & so, getting infos from neighbours is easy & generally people co operate too. He must co operate if he is reliable otherwise not. Seaarch address on "Google India". Places of worships near his house in India can also be contacted. Most of them r reliable. Be careful as u r a girl.

I think you need to add some more information like the city in India he is currently residing and it will be faster for you if you can nail it down to a place where he is currently working or self-employed.
