If your mother was not married to your father back in the time that the OT was all taken seriously, you could not get into heaven. Original sin perhaps? But how is that fair? A child cannot help his parents unmarried state...shouldn't it have been the parents, not the child who got the short end of the stick?

Deuteronomy 23:2

"A b@st@rd shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD."

I believe that alot is attributed to God, that is actually of man...God loves children most of all, because their love and acceptance is unconditional, and forgive and forget attitude.

the term isn't talking about a child born out of wedlock. its talking about a child born from incest or adultery, there is no english equivalent for the hebrew word mamzer, so english translations use the b-word instead. and its not saying that they "can't get into heaven", its saying they "may not enter into the congregation of the L-rd". in other words, it saying that jews aren't allowed to marry them.

while your right it was not fair, it is not as bad as you make it out.

"entering the congregation" means to marry another Israelite. They can marry another ******* or a convert though.

Additionally the term ******* in Biblical Hebrew is different from today. Now it means anyone born out of wedlock. Then it meant someone born out of incest or adultery.
