I want a high paying job. Atleast 50g a year, and i'm willing to work very hard. However, I just don't know what to take in college and what job to aim for. What's a high paying job that takes a 2-4 year degree that I should aim for?

Whatever you do, DON'T base your choice of Occupation on how much it pulls in a year... -or you'll be setting yourself up for the proverbial, "accident waiting to happen". Instead, think about what interests YOU. Are you "into" computers? Or Gaming? Or the Environment? Or helping others? Or something in the Business world? It's from THAT point of "Interest"- that you should try to build a Major around... -Oh, & be FLEXIBLE... -If you find yourself torn between 2 choices- GOOD! You can't have too many choices! Hang on to BOTH for as LONG as you CAN- & then pick the one you LIKE best (NOT the one you think will get you "rich" quickest). The bottom line IS; if you're going to spend the next 40 to 50 years of your life- working like a dog for, you might as well be doing it for YOU- and NOT for lining a whole bunch of other people's pockets with YOUR money! Good luck in College! :)

Well, first get your general ed stuff out of the way in your lower level classes at the 2 year university or comunity college. Make sure that they are transfer certifiable to a 4 year. This is important to know wo that you do not have to repeat lclasses or take slightly different ones and waste time later. Get your math and English and Sciences and History taken care of. Most 4 year colleges want you to have 2 years of foreign language and also a Speech class. Just start taking classes and talk to people. You might even change your mind aabout 5 or 6 times beofre you declare a major. Some colleges have career centers that might have aptitude type tests that you can take to see what kind of career paths you might be good at. Take some art, computer, health related, classes and see if you would like to pursue something that is down that alley. Having $50,000 a year job is not all that much. But the best thing is to find a job you LOVE. The money is not a t all important if you hate your job. You learn that as you grow. When we are young we just want money. After you grow up you find that money does not always equal happiness, and the things that are important do not have price tags on them.

Why don't you try to find out what it is that you like to do. I would suggest that when it comes to a career let it be something that you like doing, because a lot of the time if you are doing it because of the money and you don't like your job you will wind up miserable in that job. When you start college, there you will eventually figure out what it is that you want to do. You have career centers in colleges that have people who can help you. I have talked to some academic advisers at colleges because my son is being recruited for football, and they say that a lot of the students come into the schools planning on taking up one thing and by the time they reach their 3rd year they change their major. Your first 2 yrs. of college you are gonna take a lot of general courses and during those 2 yrs. you will figure out what you want to do. Like I said also talk to the people in the career center as well as your counselor and they can help you figure it out also. Good luck in college and I hope you succeed in whatever it is that you choose to do.

Ha- Im in the same sceanario except i'm 20. I moved from NY to NC hoping to find something I want, I haven't so Im movin back to go back to school and get my life back on track. Personally I find I don't work well being told what to do- so I will prolly go to school for business so I can open a business and be my own boss. You just gotta find what u like i guess.

ALWAYS Cover Your A**-
Just be careful when first starting out that people don't take advantage of you as far as pay etc... Im currently being screwed over, and Im thinking that was managements plan from the get go... so little do they know that in August Im meeting with my former employer as they have been asking me to move back.... and If I decide to go, I will have several co workers with me when I submit my two weeks and have them all sign a copy of it for my reference, as Management has a bad rap of saying they fired someone when that person actually gave 2 weeks notice. They are so not going to like me when I do this, but Im not going to be pushed around.
