Could someone explain that ad on tv for Roserem? That one where Abe Lincoln and that groundhog are telling the guy who can't sleep that they miss him. What he dreams about is Abe Lincoln ? And the lady dreams about a blue horse??? And what does that diver guy have to do with it? I think its the dumbest ad on TV but I can't figuire out what its supposed to mean.

They are there to symbolize his state of sleep (more specifically, his dreams). Those two characters would only appear in his dreams, and they're telling the hero of the commercial that they miss him (which means he's not sleeping, and therefore not dreaming enough).

Because these are the things that they dream about when they sleep. And when they can't sleep they don't get to see the blue horse or Abe Lincolcn or the groundhog.

The drug company is indicating the man who doesn't get any sleep doesn't have any dreams. The drug company is indicating that when the man did sleep he often dreamed of Abe and the groundhog. (Yes, a strange dream to have, but it is there way of making the ad memorable.) Abe and the ground hog miss the man because they only get to see him when he sleeps. Its a stange ad.

Who doesn't dream about Abe Lincoln?, before he was called Honest Abe his nickname was "McDreamy".

No word on the groundhog or blue horse.

isnt it obvious? abe lincoln is his great great grandfather. abe lincoln had a history of insomnia which is then passed on down the line through genetics. abe is sitting there with him to help him through his time of need. the groundhog is an obvious nod to the great movie caddyshack. he obviously loved the movie caddyshack so much that he included a product placement for it in his commercial. i hope that helps.
