for one - you have to eat more to lose weight - otherwise all you will lose is water weight and muscle not fat and slow down your metabolism and gain even more back
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
whole wheat pita pockets toasted and filled with grilled chicken and veggies (cucumbers, peppers, salad) - love this for breakfast
french toast - whole wheat bread with egg beater, splenda and cinnamon
salad made out of all kinds of veggies, nuts, dried cranberries and lean meat
old fashioned oatmeal with flax seeds, dried fruit and nuts or egg whites and avocado
kashi cereals are the best i have seen so far
yogurts with fruit and toast
cottage cheese with fruit
whole wheat wrap filled with anything you have in a fridge
steamed veggies - broccoli, snow peas, asparagus, onions, spinach etc

If your goal is to lose weight...then I'm there's something missing from your equation - exercise!

As with everything in life, balance is key. Your body needs a certain amount of protien, carbs and fat (good fats - monounsaturated!) to stay running well.

there's PLENTY of web sites where you can put in the foods you like and come up with new and fun recipes! I list a couple of them below - GOOD LUCK!
