My dad died 20 yrs ago...I had this dream in Feb...he was alive, but not aged at all, the same as he was the last time I saw him but I was who I am now... I touched his face and ran my fingers through his hair. I had tears in my eyes..completely dumbfounded that he was right in front of me untouched by time or grave. I was so in love with him as a daughter loves her daddy. Neither of us spoke in the dream. But I could tell that he loved me too...but not like a dad loves his little girl..rather as a man loves a woman.
Why did I have this dream? Any idea what it could mean?

I'm a Christian...I believe in life after death...life with my heavenly Father...I don't usually believe in the meaning of dreams but this one was really weird...my dad was in love with me...he died when he was 33 (if I remember what my mom said) and I am now 30...He was IN love with me...like a man loves a woman...

Although I am not Christian, I tend to see the dream as a mixture of personal feelings and Christian mythology coming together without 'distinction'.
In other words, because you have two (or more) different associations with the word 'Father', it is quite possible and likely for you to dream of a Father that is more than simply the one you biologically had.
Also, while one needs to be loved as a child, to feel that childish sense of security and comfort and safety from harm, one also needs to feel loved as an individual and as an adult. In other words, you not only need the love of a father for a child, but also of a man for a woman, and the dream was a confluence of that, since you turn to your 'heavenly' Father to bring you that which you desire.
That does not mean that you are thinking of your father that way. On the contrary, it sounds like you would like to find a man who not only loves you protectively and securely but also intimately, flesh of my flesh.
In other words, the dream was meant to convey that God will not only take care of you as a father does a child but will bring the one, who will see you as a man does a woman, to you as well, and the love he brings you will know comes from Him.

I am a Christian and when I have these just when I wake up I lay down and just kind of space off and ask God to interpret. I think the spiritual world is highly misunderstood and if I had to say, I think God presented your Dad's spirit as you would recognize him to your current day spirit to say " I love you and am here and will always love you" you just can't see me. I have had this stuff happen and just think, our human minds are bound by the physical realities of this old world when there is most definitely an alive spiritual world. just beware the evil one knows it too. If you haven't seen the movie "Ghost with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayzee" now would be an excellnet time to watch ti !!!!

thats like his spirit or something telling you hes still with you i think. depends on whether you beleive in the afterlife.
