I have long been interested in practicing a bit of light magick, I have a ton of information from the years of reading this and that, but a lot of it seems contrived rhyming spells, so it's hard to determine what is legitimate and truer to the "software of the universe" rather than pretty streamers and fancy words.

The question becomes; what materials should I get ahold of, to get started, and by what means? (internet seems so stamped and impersonal), and is there a way to find out what type of witch I am best suited for? send me an e-mail if you are able to determine based on a description of my personality actually.

Why would you want to practice magick in the first place? Answer this and e-mail me if you want to.
Plenty of different magickal systems out there....

I leave it to you to establish further contact if you are serious....
Which I many times care to disbelieve.

And, there is no such thing as 'light' magick. There is simply magick and if you just start applying whatever c***rp you pull off the net you might actually have trouble.
So, think of this seriously, WHY?

And I would like to have your age provided too if you choose to e-mail me (and ways to verify it).

Google "types of Witches" and check out some of the web sites. I did, and I got a lot information on the basic types of Witches, like kitchen Witches, Traditional, Gardnerian, etc. Lots of info, good luck on your journey. Also a good book is Witchcraft, Theory and Practice.

There is no such thing as "light" magick. Magick is Magick. You either are or aren't practicing it. Oh and if you're starting, a good rule to follow: don't follow any.

I'm a Wiccan but I tell you this: avoid that threefold rule lie.

Good luck to you.

If you're into ceremonial magick, I'd suggest reading "Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig. It's basically a course in magick.
