The God eat food. He takes everything we offer through honest and devotional intentions and in physical form. In Geeta it is said, 'leaves, flowers, fruits, water, what ever my devotees offer with love, I accept and consume it to satisfy them'. Devotees like Meerabai, Surdas, Namdeo, Suradas, Gulabrao Baba (Amaravati) were feeding Him. There may be many examples in history, as they had attained that highest level to communicate with the God through intense devotion. For intense devotion, total surrender of all intensions, work, passions, emotions, mind, intelect, thought, pleasures, sufferings, worries, cares, i.e. each and every activity of common human life is to be offered to Him without a slightest reservation or hesitation. Whatever He will give, right from pains to pleasures, starving to delicious foods, sleepless nights to extraneous working days, it is accepted as His Prasad with contented mind and love. At initial stage one finds it difficult but it is called a penance. An active penance to do each and every activity for Him while chanting his name. Love for his all creation right from smallest insect to huge mountains. No demands for anything but giving and giving of everything up to the clothes on one's body when needed and that too with pleasure. It is very difficult but not impossible. For common man right thinking and right working with intention of love and happiness, pleasure and good health for all, is enough. Very small portion from whatevery we have, can be doneted to needy ones is great charity.

Yes, Krishna eats our food what we offer to him. But his way of eating and our way of eating are different.
We use our hands to eat the food. When we eat 100 grams of the food out of 200 gms, then 100 grams remains.
But this is not the case with Krishna. There are two logical reasons behind this.
First, as per Brahma Samhita, we should compare Krishna's body with our body. We can only see with our eyes. But Krishna can even eat, walk with his eyes. He can do that because His personality is transcendental .. beyond mundane conceptions. Krishna has transcendental senses through which He can enjoy whatever food we offer to Him. This is confirmed in the Brahma Samhita verse 32, angani yasya sakalendriya vritti manti.
"Each of the limbs of His body can perform the function of any other organ." So, God is a person for if He was not, He would not be able to accept our offerings. So, he can just accept our food just with a glance of his.
And what should we offer? that also Krishna says " patram puspam phalam toyam yo me bhaktya prayacchati.." means whatever we offer whether it is a leaf, flower, fruit or even a drop of water, Krishna accepts it. So, here Krishna is personally categorising his preference since he does not want people to be non-vegetarians. We have to oblige to Krishna. So, neither we can offer him egg, meat nor we eat. This is also confirmed in various other vedic scriptures.
Second, If Krishna eats, then why has not the food stuff decreased in quantity? The reason has been given in Isopanishad. " om purnam adah purnam idam
purnat purnam udacyate
purnasya purnam adaya
purnam evavasisyate"
- The Personality of Godhead is perfect and complete, and because He
is completely perfect, all emanations from Him, such as this phenomenal
world, are perfectly equipped as complete wholes. Whatever is produced
of the complete whole is also complete in itself. Because He is the
complete whole, even though so many complete units emanate from Him, He
remains the complete balance.
Krishna is complete in himself and in his creations. So, when he has taken some quantity of food he will keep back the same quantity of food. So, full gains with no loss :-)
That is Krishna...
So, Krishna accepts anything no matter it is fumes or solid or liquids....

God does not eat the food offered by man. In fact God does not need the food in the first place.
The offer of food by man to God which is called Neivedya is only for man's satisfaction.
The whole universe consisting of zillions of Galaxies each with billions of suns and its planets, were created by God.
Such a powerful creator does not need the pittance offered by man.
When man is worshipping such a mammoth energy source, he out of love and devotion offers any food or fruit, to God before consuming the same. This offer is only to show Him and inturn get the food spiritualised.
It is akin to a child offering a sweet candy to its parent, which was actually given to it by the parent only.
Therefore the idea of offering food for God is not for Him to sit and eat it, but as a gesture of devotion and love only.
This is a beautiful and sacred part of Bhakti marga.

It is the human race which has created what we today know as GOD, their likes and dislikes. God doen't exist. If god does exist then it does not need any food because GOD has all the supernatural powers. The sweets that we offer in the temple goes into the belly of the pundit and his family. Personally I have never gone to any temple for the purpose of praying because praying means begging.

in the vedas and puranas we discover pancha bhoothas which includes land, water, fireplace, air, akash are the creations of God. Out of the 5, the land additionally a introduction of God. The land provides us food in the type of grains. so, in gratitude of Him, we are doing alternatives say Nyvedya and it is barely a thank you in the type of gratitude. we've many examples to this.Sri Pandarinatha commonplace the food presented by utilizing Namadeva. The God Ganesa took food in guy or woman the food presented by utilizing Tirunaraiyur Nambiandan Nambi. Indians make an offering of food to the Lord and later partake of it as Prasaada - a holy present from the Lord. In our each and every day ritualistic worship (pooja) too we grant Naivedyam (food) to the Lord. The Lord is all-powerful and omniscient. guy is a factor, mutually as the Lord is the totality. All that we do is by utilizing His power and archives by myself. for this reason what we acquire in existence as a consequence of our movements is relatively His by myself. We renowned this in the time of the act of offering food to Him. it is exemplified by utilizing the Hindi words "Tera Tujko Arpan"- I furnish what's Yours to You. Thereafter it extremely is comparable to His present to us, graced by utilizing His divine touch. understanding this, our complete innovations-set to food and the act of eating variations. The food presented will clearly be organic and the main suitable. We share what we get with others earlier eating it. we don't call for, ***** or criticise the favourite of the food we get.

Whatever we offer to God, if it is with the same humbleness as that of Shabari or Sudama, then only God will eat that.
What we do in our offerings is to show to the world that we are great devotees. And the whole world sees that, but not God. And we offer to God only because we know that our laddoos will remain in tact after we carry out our rituals.

One thing some people like to do is make God Human. Well he is in a way because all that is , Is God and everything you can imagine and much more than you can imagine. God is Energy and Spirit. God puts a spark of his spirit in every Human and that spirit is of God, so it is eternal. I don't think God sits around and enjoys every bite you eat but on a grand scale, he possible does because I think we were created so God could experience Him/her self.
Some things we may never know, but it is fun to think about it.

You may accept that God is our basic parents (both mother & father). The parents (specially mother) don't eat till their children are fed ! and on the earth how many God's children are not fed ! this is the reason the God returns, all those ofered, to feed his children. The day each human on earth would eat regularily God shall start eating the oferings from us.
