I can't believe these other answers. Have you guys been to LA lately. You can live a moderate life style on $5000 a month but you aren't living well. On $10,000 a month you can appear to be living well but at the end of the year you will have nothing left. At about $20,000 a month you start living real well and can travel and put enough aside for a rainy day. If you are only making 4 g's amonth you might as well be working at McDonald's.

Come on, who can answer this? What part of LA? What actually makes you happy? Will you need a place in West LA or in South Central? Will you be happy driving a used Toyota or only a new BMW ?
OK, if you insist on a number, at least $50,000 a year, but some people will NOT be happy with $200,000.
