There is nothing in the Bible about Holy Water.
Its another invention by a denomination which pretty much ignores the Bible.

Holy Water is water used for purification that has been blessed by a priest.
You have never seen Holy Water? what about at your baptism??? The bible specifically calls for baptism that washes away (water) in Acts 22.
Holy water comes from the Apostolic Constitution which was around before the compilation of the bible. It is attributed to the Apostle Matthew as the first to use it for baptism and purification.
Unlike Pastor Art suggests Holy Tradtion which is commanded by Paul in the Bible comes from those around during the time of the Apostles and immediately after. Those that were writing the bible. You have to interpret it through their eyes not make our modern spin on it wiht out considering them. After all they were the ones who lived with and learned directly from Jesus and the Apostles, not people who lived 1500 years later and brought up things and ideas that had never been apart of Christianity to change it to what suited their needs.

It is a sacramental-objects whose supernatural effects, unlike those of a sacrament, depend on the belief of the recipient.
The blessing of the Priest makes the water holy.
It is used as a reminder of our baptism. the sign of the cross is made with the fingers that have been wetted by the holy water, in the earliest Christian times, water was used for expiatory and purificatory purposes.
In the 300's St. Epiphanius records that at Tiberias a man named Joseph poured water on a madman, having first made the sign of the cross and pronounced these words over the water: "In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, crucified, depart from this unhappy one, thou infernal spirit, and let him be healed!" Joseph was converted an subsequently used the same proceeding to overcome witchcraft; yet, he was neither a bishop nor a cleric.

Priests have been given the authority by Christ to bless. It was given to them in the sacrament of Holy Orders. They can say a blessing over water and it makes the water holy. Catholic priests use holy water during the sacrament of Baptism. We have holy water in a font at the entrance of the church and we put the tip of the index and middle finger in the water and make the sign of the cross as we enter the church. It blesses us as we enter God's house, the church, it reminds us of our baptism. Some people say a prayer when they do this. Holy water is also used by the priest during the sacrament of Last Rites, when they bless and pray over a person who is on their death bed.
Jesus talks about being baptized with water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit when He was baptized by John the Baptist. And in the Book of Acts St. Paul talks about blessing water.

Holy water is plain water that has been blessed, and is used in sacraments such as baptism and on other special days in the church. Small bowls of it are also placed at each entrance for the churchgoers to bless themselves with (dip 2 fingers and make the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit sign on themselves).

Water that has been blessed or prayed over is called holy water. I have not seen any references to holy water in the Bible. I will be interested to read what others post.

i do not study different holy waters, inspite of the indisputable fact that, Islamic holy water (Zam Zam) is considered "holy" because it comes out of a nicely which in accordance to the Quran, replaced into dug by Angel Gabriel a lengthy time period in the past. This nicely continues to be operating and the water hasn't ever risen nor has it dropped even by an inch ever considering that. a eu company despatched a number of their acceptable water pumps to placed this "holy" nicely placed in Mecca, Saudi Arabia to the try and they could no longer take care of to drop the water factor by even an inch with their cutting-aspect machines. Then they despatched their workers into the nicely (that's no longer that deep ~6-7 ft deep and that's in ordinary words some ft in diameter) and the worker stated that each and every one they could sense replaced into effervescent on the bottom of the nicely, there isn't any longer some thing else down there. This replaced into executed VERY those days, around the twelve months 2000 or so. in case you drink this water, you'll sense very finished and it replaced into scientifically shown at one factor by some lab in Europe that it replaced into examined to be the healthiest water on the planet. it really is why the Islamic holy water is considered "holy."

Catholics copied it. Check this out.
Designed by the Greek inventor Heron, this coin-operated holy water dispenser was used in Egyptian temples to dispense water for ritual washings. Worshippers would place a coin into the machine and receive holy water to bathe themselves with before entering the temple. At the end of the day, the slot machine would be emptied of its coins and refilled with holy water for the next day's worshippers. Dropping a coin into the slot machine initiates a chain reaction: the weight of the coin depresses a metal pan, which in turn results in the opening of a valve, which in turn allows the water to flow out for the worshipper.

Law is holy, but it's also unholy.
Grace is holy, but never unholy.
Blessed: Romans 4:7 (Psalms 32:1)... Law
Blessed: Romans 4:8 (Psalms 32:2)... Grace
The GRACE(ONLY) of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
