Actually I think the actual riddle is something like this ...
There are three common words in the English language, ending in 'gry' -- hungry and also angry. So... What's the third word?
There aint no other word ending in 'gry'. The answer to this trick question is 'language'. Cos it's the 3rd word in 'the English language' :)

To begin with this riddle no matter how you word it is a trick question because there is no other common words (common being the key word) that end in “gry” besides hungry and angry. In one version the whole “gry” dilemma is a diversion in another they have already given you the answer point blank. Another version it’s based on how it sounds and not how it’s spelled. Now remember the riddle was meant to be spoken and not read because quotations give away the answer.
Example 1: Think of words ending in “gry”. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in “the English language”. What is the third one? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is.
....The answer is LANGUAGE….The first two sentences are a diversion and have nothing to do with what it’s asking you. We use language everyday when we speak to each other.
Example 2: Angry and hungry are two words in the English language that end in “gry”. “What” is the third word? The word is something everyone uses everyday. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is…..The answer is WHAT…The question is telling point blank that “What” is the third word. It is also a word people use commonly everyday. Now remember just like the previous one it’s meant to be spoken and not read.
This one I don’t particularly agree with because it’s missing key sentences that the other two have, but I’ll throw it in there anyways.
Example 3: There are three words in English that end in “gree”. The first two are angry and hungry and if you listen closely you’ll agree that I’ve told you the third one…The answer is AGREE… It’s basing itself off sound and not spelling so it uses hungry and angry to throw you off.
Personally I go with Language as the answer. Now I know this doesn't give you a direct answer, but I hope it helps you understand how some of the answer you received came about.

this is not the proper written riddle. here is the right riddle.
"Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is."
now think of it for a while i'll give you some space so you won't see the written answer i'll give... take some time and think. don't look yet!

the answer isn't tricky the only tricky thing is the way the riddle is told. so the real answer is "language".

There isn't one. It is a trick quesion that has to be worded exactly:
"In the English language, there are very few words that end in -gry. One is hungry, one is angry. In the English language, what is the third word?"
The third word is "language".

gry: The smallest unit in Locke’s proposed decimal system of linear measurement, being the tenth of a line, the hundredth of an inch, and the thousandth of a (“philosophical”) foot. Also the grunt of a pig, an insignificant trifle, or a verb meaning to roar. Obsolete.

I think that the "GRY" thing is in there to confuse us... So my answer to this question would be "WHAT!!"
Because you already told us that "hungry, angry and ... what? t
Then you said What is the third word.... ( in so many words)
What would be my best guess!! Yes "What" is the answer!!!
