I suppose it is possible, but another thing you need to consider is...Is the mother eating them? I had a cat once who ate two of her kittens. I asked the vet and he said that there was probably something wrong with the kittens and that it sometimes happens. Are the kittens well? Try putting them somewhere there is no chance a possum or other animal can get to them.

If you have them outside {which is not smart} then you are asking possums, raccoons, wild dogs, hawks to come get them...
I kept my cats kittens in the house to protect them from the wild elements outside
You asking for trouble.

They do not Kidnap in the true kidnap sense. Not trying to be mean, but they eat them. Sorry. Can you let them into the house at least at night ?
