ISLAM

A religion deeply respected by most people.A religion about love, truth and peace. A religion that ALLAH created and HE is the MERCIFUL & THE MASTER OF THE WORLDS.There is no other GOD but only ALLAH.

The first thing that one should know and clearly understand about Islam is what the word "Islam" itself means. The religion of Islam is not named after a person as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Gotama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, and Marxism after Karl Marx. Nor was it named after a tribe like Judaism after the tribe of Judah and Hinduism after the Hindus. Islam is the true religion of "Allah" and as such, its name represents the central principle of Allah's "God's" religion; the total submission to the will of Allah "God". The Arabic word "Islam" means the submission or surrender of one's will to the only true god worthy of worship "Allah" and anyone who does so is termed a "Muslim", The word also implies "peace" which is the natural consequence of total submission to the will of Allah. Hence, it was not a new religion brought by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) I in Arabia in the seventh century, but only the true religion of Allah re-expressed in its final form.

Islam is the religion which was given to Adam, the first man and the first prophet of Allah, and it was the religion of all the prophets sent by Allah to mankind. The name of God's religion lslam was not decided upon by later generations of man. It was chosen by Allah Himself and clearly mentioned in His final revelation to man.

See Allah is a chosen word by the Almighty himself. The reason is just because of a simple Surah, Chapter No. 112 of the Holy Qur'an which says: He is Allah, the One and Only! Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not nor is He begotten. And there is none like unto Him. This is a litmus test for anything to be a god. Put your belief into this and the result is a god if it qualifies all the above mentioned. The problem with referring Allah as God; If I add an "s" to it, it becomes Gods which is not possible. There could be only one god and no power sharing. If I add an "dess" to it, it becomes Goddess which is female for God. The problem here is god is of no sex. Futhermore it continues... I hope you get the point. I have no problem in using the term god when talking to a non-believer during "dawa'h" or preaching because this person is familiar with the term and understands it already so it would be easier to approach them. I read an answer telling that Jesus's god and Muslim's god are different, It is not so. You have every right to know about religion and so I'm answering to that as well I hope you don't mind. See first Adam PBUH was created without Mother or Father both this is an accepted fact by both Muslims and the Christians. Now comming on to the birth of Jesus or Eisa ibn Maryam PBUH, here only father is missing, in comparison Adam should be a bigger god than Jesus. Tell me why is Adam not a God in christianity and Jesus is. The answer to all this is just that Jesus is a Man and a Prophet, he was created by Allah's will so was Adam and all the living and non-living things. Never did Jesus ask his followers to worship him but only guided them to worship the god he worshiped. The same teachings where of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. This is an approach I take to question ones own belief related to God, once he / she understands the concept then ask them to put the God they believe in to litmus test of Surah Al-Ikhlas Chapter No.112 the result is thier wish to believe in or not. We muslims do worship the same Allah or God that was the creator of Adam, worshiped by Abraham, Moses and Jesus Peace Be Upon Them All.

1. It is an undeniable fact of history that before Muhammed was born, the moon god "al-Ilah" (Allah) had three daughters named al-Lat, al-Uzza and Manat. The first two were even named after their father. Each daughter had a separate shrine near Mecca, where Allah's shrine was located.
2. As Muhammad grew weary from evangelizing his new religion with little success, he was tricked by the devil into adding a verse in the Koran that commanded Muslims to pray to Allah's three pagan daughters Lat, Uzza and Manat. The pagan female trinity was immediately accepted without dissent and the passage was considered part of the revealed Koran. However some time later, Muhammad got a revelation from God that the verse should be removed. After repenting of the error, Muhammad was comforted by God.
3. Such "after the fact corrective revelations" are very common with cults. Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormons also received an "after the fact corrective revelation" from God retracted the previous "divine command" allowing polygamy.
4. The historical information confirming the "Satanic verses" is so vast and sure, only the desperate blind would deny the evidence. Undeniably factual information regarding the Satanic verses comes from respected Muslim scholars like at-Tabari and Ibn Sa’d who wrote biographical and historical accounts of the life of Muhammad.
5. Yet some Muslims actually reject the whole "daughter-gate" story as untrue. These are an extremist minority, you know, the ones who don't believe youth should be taught history or science, but spend 8 hours a day memorizing the Koran. Yet many Muslims are trained to habitually disregard factual world history when it conflicts with the Koran. Take the fact of Christ's crucifixion. Even the Jews agree he was crucified, but the Koran says it was a case of mistaken identity. So Muslims reject the universal record of history and the Bible, but believe the Koran is true. Amazingly, some Islamic apologists actually deny "daughter-gate" ever happened. Yet their only argument is, "The Koran says it cannot be tampered with and that Satan cannot interfere with the revelation process." So, these extremists must either admit that the final prophet revealed a Koranic passage whose origin was Satan, or simply rewrite their own history and deny the whole "daughter-gate" scandal itself.

Islam is about total submission to the will of Allah. So far it's fine here. But once the submision is not voluntary but thru arms and coercions it is a different story from the true meaning of Islam.

I agree Allah is not God. He is characteristically different than God as portrayed in the Bible. See also http://www.bcbsr.com/topics/islam.html

Yes I knew that.

The description of allah in the Quran is very different than the description of God in the Bible.

The mormon god is not god either.

I don't care what you think, and I don't think anyone else does neither. I believe in Allah (swt) and there's nothing you can say or do that will change my mind.

You need to do a little more research. Try not to rely on fundamentalist Christian sources. They tend not to be objective. If you are referring to the god of the Christians, remember He is not a God, he is three gods.
