My friends son-in-law had his parents coming to visit him from California to Illinois. They were stranded in Wyoming and told the car cost too much to fix. so he drove in a rented vehicle from Illinois to Wyoming to pick them up and bring them to Illinois. How much do you think it cost to rent this mini van for a couple of days? I think he should take them back to California. What do you think?

To be exact, it is 1020 miles each way. I personally could not believe they plan to bring them back to Illinois for a mere 6 days.

I recently went to Toronto Canada from Dayton Ohio and back. Though the distance was not exactly 1000 miles one way, it was more like 1200 mi total.
I rented a minivan from Avis ( non airport location), booked a month in advance , used Amex Card and ended up $421 for 10 days , did not take insurance since my vehicle insurance covered rental cars. Also got $50 gas card back for subscribing to an Avis card, which I cancelled as soon as I got the gas card in mail. So the final total cost for renting the minivan ( 07 kia Sedona) was about $37/day.

well, you have to be more specific... 1000 miles each way? I'll do both
for U-haul, its about $25 to rent plus 69¢ per mile so thats...
$690.00 + $25 = $715.00 for 1000 miles totall, but
1000 miles each way...
$1380.00 + $25 = $1405.00

It's hard to say. It depends on a number of things:. !. The year, newer cars give more miles per gallon(MPG), 2. The number of cylinders, the range is from 4 to8, and the less cylinders give the best MPG, 3 Whether you are driving on the streets or on the highway. The highway costs less to drive in terms of mpg, whether the car is stick shift or automatic, stick shift is more economical, lastly how fast you travel. If you go over 55 mph, you will use up more gasoline.Toyotas and Hondas give the best MPG. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Well it depends who you rent from, how many days you are renting for and if you are driving out of state. For example, Enterprise car rental (whom is very good and most reasonable in price) will give you unlimited mileage within your state. However, if you are leaving the state then certain mileage restrictions apply. Check out the websites for car rental locations near you or give them a call and ask. They will be happy to help!

depends on who you rent it from and how many days.
Plan on $50 a day plus $0.25 a mile... plus the contract fee plus the insurance fee so if they scratch the paiint they don't have to pay.....
