The end has been near for 2000 years....it could be another 2000 years. Who knows...anyone making that claim is off base as there is no evidence as such...I remember in the 1970's people said it was going to end in 1985. Well we are still here taking our morning dumps...then it was going to end in at the end of 1999....we're still here doing the same thing...with nothing to prove otherwise...
There are too many people trying to make past and current events fit their idea of end time events...but scriptures cannot be twisted to fit anyone's agenda...it just doesn't work that way...and the bible specifically states that only god knows when the end is...man doesn't, not even Jesus knew...so anyone saying they know it is near or the end is here is full of self righteous crap...

Although I am not totally convinced the end is near, I do believe we are getting close. Many of the signs can be found in Matthew 24 but there are also plenty of other references found throughout the Holy Scriptures:
1) Last days will be like days of Noah. (Matthew 24:37)
2) Wars and rumors of wars. (Matthew 24:6)
3) Nation will rise up against nation. (Matthew 24:7)
4) Earthquakes will abound. (Matthew 24:7)
5) Christian persecution. (Matthew 24:9)
6) Israel will be hated by all nations. (Matthew 24:9)
7) Many will turn from the faith. (Matthew 24:10)
8) Gospel preached to the whole world. (Matthew 24:14)
9) Excessive drinking and given in to marriage. (Matthew 24: 38)
10) Jews gathered in Israel. (Ezekiel 36:24)
11) People will be lovers of self. (2 Timothy 3:2)
12) Lovers of money. (2 Timothy 3:2)
13) People will be without love. (2 Timothy 3:3)
14) Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. (2 Timothy 3:4)
15) A northern army will rise up against Israel. Keep an eye on Russia (Gog/Magog). (Ezekiel 38)
Need more? Because there at least a dozen more to list. Just ask.

1. Life expectancies top out at 80 years.
2. Few people live to be 100.
3. Nobody, to date, has lived much longer than that.
4. Estate planners and life insurance companies have plenty of customers, and *none* have yet been disappointed.
5. Funeral homes aren't hurting for business.
Ergo: The end of the world is certainly near. It just won't be on the same date for everyone. QED.
Probably not the True Christian⢠answer, but it's based on reality.

The end of what World? The planet Earth, the religious world, the humans, the life as we know, the Solar System, the Milky Way, the entire Universe or maybe my life?
I have no reason to believe that some of this ends are near.

Rome/Britain etc. fell because of a decline in political power. I think we are heading there:
1. Establishment of the European Union (watch out America) = move towards future one-world government.
2. Idolatry = worship of materialism and created things instead of the Creator
3. Failure these days to be repulsed by filthy entertainment
4. Acceptance of homosexuality and rejecting God's values
5. Manipulation of the economy by Federal Reserve System, Social Security, IRS = economy backed by debt instead of wealth
Aside from 9/11, I believe something catastrophic is going to happen to America. It could be an economic meltdown, nations using weapons of mass destruction, mass terrorist attacks (being the most hated among nations)
Hey it could happen. The stage is set.

Those who base their claims of Doom on the prophecies of Revelations are violating the serious warning, at the end of Revelations (22:18,19) . . .
. . . "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book." . . .
That's pretty clear, as far as warnings go. You may NOT embellish or detract from Revelations AT ALL. That pretty much disallows interpreting Revelations, except to yourself. Yet it appears to be a favorite Christian pastime.
So if anybody tells you that Revelations says the End is near -- particularly if they set a date on the End -- you may know with confidence that they're without Biblical authority.
Besides, it's all myth anyway.

1. that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandments of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first; that SCOFFERS WILL COME IN THE LAST DAYS, walking according to their own lusts, and saying "where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation." 2 Peter 3:2-4
2. Now the Spirit expressly says that IN LATTER TIMES, SOME WILL DEPART FROM THE FAITH, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seard with a hot iron. 1Timothy 4:1-2
3. And He said: "Take heed that you not be deceived. FOR MANY WILL COME IN MY NAME, SAYING I AM HE and , 'The time has drawn near. Therefore, do not go after them."
4. " But when you hear of WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS, do not be troubled, for such things must happen, but the end is not yet.
For NATION WILL RISE AGAINST NATION, AND KINGDOM AGAINST KINGDOM. And there will be EARTHQUAKES in VARIOUS PLACES, and there will be FAMINES AND TROUBLES. THESE ARE THE BEGINNING OF THE BIRTH PAINS."
Mark 13:7-8
5. "AND YOU WILL(believers) WILL BE HATED BY ALL for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved." Mark 13:13
6. "And this GOSPEL of the kingdom will be PREACHED IN ALL THE WORLDas a witness to all the nations and THEN the END WILL COME" Mat 24:14
7. " So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near--at the doors!"
'Assuredly, I say to you, THIS GENERATION WILL BY NO MEANS PASS AWAY TILL ALL THESE THINGS TAKE PLACE . Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. But of that day and hour no one knows, (not the "times"), not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
For as in the days before the flood, they were EATING AND DRINKING,MARRYING AND GIVING IN MARRIAGE, until the day that Noah entered the ark.
and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, SO ALSO WILL THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN BE. Mat 24:33-39

There's more than 5 here but they sure seem to reflect today's world.
2 Timothy 3:1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

I agree with the poster who said only God knows when this will occur, but I have compiled many current events articles and placed them under various end time prophetic events. If you were interested, you could look and see... there are about 200 different articles that I think MIGHT apply to these prophecies.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be (1) lovers of their own selves.... (2) disobedient to parents... (3) without natural affection...... (4) despisers of those that are good......... (5) lovers of pleasured more than lovers of God.......
There are more than 5 reasons, but I'm tired of typing
