You're body is not as active after 9:00 pm so anything you ate can easily be stored as fat in the body as you sleep... if you are really hungry try eating a light healthy snack...
When you really think about it, when you go out to dinner like at Olive Garden it takes so long to get in that you end up eating like after 9, and its never had an effect on me,lol

It's an old wives tale. It has been clinically proven that it doesn't matter when you eat your calories, just how many you eat. Lots of people have a harder time making good food choices later at night, so that is why some people say that.

That's sorta not 100% true. Basically you don't want to eat 3 hours before bed. And you don't want to eat anything heavy (white carbs, sugar) 5-6 hours before bed.
This is just because your body doesn't need all that energy if you're just gunna sleep.
It's best to eat your HEAVY meals in the morning and your LIGHTER meals at night.
Eating heavy meals (pasta, rice, etc.) at night right before bed is actually a trick sumo wrestlers use to GAIN weight.
Of course, this all depends. If you do 2hrs of cardio and then 1hr later hit the sack, you'd need to eat more at night.. but otherwise, it's best not to eat 2-3 hrs before bed.

Actually you shouldn't eat after 8:00. People and opinions differ. Reason being most people go to bed shortly after and your body cannot burn all the calories from the food your digested while you sleep - thus people who large meals late wonder why they can't lose weight.

Yes, your digestive system slows dramatically and your body does not do well digesting food in a horizontal postion due to the blood and such...not to mention your not doing anything so the food is converted into fat instead of muscle...lots of reasons...

It's most likely said because your body may have a more difficult time digesting this food that late due to lack of physical activity. Therefore, you won't burn off most of it. Secondly, it may cause you to get upset stomach or other digestion problems (indigestion).

Well, it's ok if you didn't eat dinner yet, cause me and my family have been known to eat at 9pm or later. Cause it depends on how late you start.
