I'm thinking of doing a quite long walk over a relatively flat area. This is not a fast-paced walk, just the normal speed someone would have walking up to the local mall or wherever.

Thanks.

About 3 miles an hour, 20 minutes a mile. Somewhere around 3.5 mph it turns into a brisk walk. And you're generally jogging (or are moving long legs fast) at 4 mph.

About 3 miles an hour. When I was in Thailand at age 26, I could regularly walk a kilometer in 10 minutes, hitting the tenth kilo markers on the minute. That is 6 km per hour or 3.73 mph

a leisurely stroll would be around 3 mph powerwalk would be 4-5 mph.. i think this isn't exact obviously.. but you could test it out by borrowing a friends treadmill or going to the local YMCA for $6 and walking on their treadmill at different speeds and seeing what your walkign speed is
