Is it because you are afraid of the concept of death? Or is it because you don't want to go to hell, or because you want to think that all your companions will go to heaven, eternal paradise, with you, and all your enemies will get eternal torture?

If it's none of those, why do you believe?

Don't say faith, please...I know most Americans won't believe something on faith alone.

Maurice: But "experiencing God" actually comes from someone hoping so hard for God to come in, because they've heard all about him and how happy he makes people. So they subconciously create a voice that their conciousness calls God and force themselves to be happy, claiming they have "found God." Then, they tell all their friends, who do the same thing.

For the non-belivers it is sometimes hard to comprehend why we believe, but it is a good question. For me, sometimes i am lost in my own faith sometimes. But it is in the daily mysteries of god's compassion where i find my faith once again. I know it is hard for you to understand this as well as it is hard for me understand why you dont believe. Well hopefully this helped clears things up from a christian percpective...

Just believing doesn't assure you a place in Heaven, the bible says even the demons believe. You have to give your life to Jesus and trust in Him , for assurance of eternity in Heaven. The reason , why I believe is the signs and wonders , that God shows me every day. Just imagine, God would forget to turn on the oxygen for you . You'd be dead in a very short time. Take a look at the sky and tell me who could put it there , unless God did it.

We believe because we have a soul. Everyone who believes has a choice whether they want to or not. So just look at how more than 2 thirds of the world believe in some kind or being like god. There must be a reason for it. If some atheists would just believe for a little bit, they would realize how much better it is to live that way.

I believe in Jesus Christ. I realized very quickly that I was not able to continue to lead my own life. I was on the verge of a divorce, I have a addictive personality, and was just all around not doing well. I started to read the Bible looking for answers. I later came to believe that God could love me. I can say that it has changed my life. I am still married and I praise God for that. There are as many different reason to believe as there are people believing. I will also tell you that Jesus Christ loves you and wants you to believe in the saving power of the cross. Were He shed His blood for the forgiveness of sin.

I believe, because of the feeling I have in my heart. When I have got down on my hands and knees to pray and feel Gods power so strong that I can't even get up. I believe, because its the only hope I have, that there is something better to look forward to, than this. The main reason I believe, because I have a peace in my heart that nothing in this world can ever give me.

I can not remember a time that I have not believed and I was not raised up in a religious home, I was allowed to go to church if I chose to and I was allowed not to go if I did not want to go, but I have always believe there was a God, just my understanding of him has changed over the years...when I was young he was like a God who was there to help me in trouble, as I go older I thought he was there to send me to hell because I was a biggest sinner in the world with so much evil in my heart I was hopeless...now I know that neither of these are completely wrong but not completely correct either. Because I know him more than ever because he sought me out and saved me I understand that yes he is there to help me...and yes I was correct I was on my way to hell and completely deserved to go there since I was a murderer, but I also know now that he has mercy and grace and he came not to condemn me but to save me and that is why I believe.

I wasn't scared of Death befor I was born again (saved).
I Guess that is why GOD (after Salvation) called me a Nut.
Cause HE had to save me so many times from stupid stuff I did!

I got into Alcoholism which really messed me up Health wise, then other things happened and I was about dead. I called out on GOD and HE Answered. I was Born-Again Instantly.
My whole Life Changed at that Point.
Tremendous Really.
Jesus IS Lord.
Ditto.............

Because the angel Gabriel informed me that Jimmy Carter will emerge as the Antichrist aka Dajjal (eighth King in Rev. 17) and he's going to serve an extra time period in workplace after the demise of Obama (seventh king). The angel Gabriel informed me in Aug. 1973 while i used to be in Phillipsbrug, Montana that Jimmy Carter will emerge as the Anti-Christ, and that he's going to difference his title, and divorce his spouse! Obama goes to die first after which the Anti-Christ aka Dajjal who used to be one of the crucial prior 7 Presidents will take his location! Rev. 17:10 And there are seven kings: 5 are fallen, and one is, [and] the opposite isn't but come; and while he cometh, he need to retain a brief house. All 7 kings have been all alive till the demise of Ronald Reagan June five, 2004 while George W. Bush used to be in workplace ; one million. Gerald Ford two. Jimmy Carter three. Ronald Reagan four. George H. W. Bush five. Bill Clinton 6. George W. Bush.... is spoken of within the reward demanding (and one is) considering the fact that till Reagan died (June five, 2004) all 7 have been alive! 7. Barack Obama.......and one is but to come back! He will die a couple of days after he increases taxes! Obama may be in Dan. eleven:20 Then shall get up in his property a raiser of taxes [in] the consideration of the dominion: however inside few days he will be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in struggle. Rev. 17:eleven And the beast that used to be, and isn't, even he's the 8th, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

I'm a Christian because historical evidence supports it, the world has been utterly changed because of it, and primarily because of the way Christ has personally affected my life. Jesus Christ rose from the dead in victory over sin and death. This is not JUST faith, it is historically and intellectually supported faith.
