I personally know of a family, that had a son that was gay. He was a pretty good kid. Very active in the church and of strong faith. The church gave him a dilemma he was of course welcome to attend church but good not do any readings or church activities until he renounced his homosexual lifestyle. He choose to leave the church. His parents stood by him for awhile but, later caved into the church and abandoned him.

He moved out and joined up with others in the same situation. He turned to drugs and was killed in a bad drug deal. Then the church mourned for him and said what a tragedy it was. All the while many would whisper that if he was not gay he would not have meet such a fate.

So how do I balance it easily. Jesus reached out to everyone with pure love. Use his example of how not to judge. He would never say hey I'm not judging it is the bible that his judging. Look into your heart and see that judging is judging and it is hard to suppress. No matter how capable you are of love the Father is every so much more. We are all is children. Is their anything that your child could do to make you love him less. Could you being a sinner as we all are every condemn your child to hell. I do not think so; and, if you could not how do you purpose God could. Please reconsider your position so that no one else dies the way my friend did.

Yes there are some that lump homosexuality in with the "oops" sins we have after we're saved. Most rationalize the verses to mean that the authors were talking about certain groups of homosexuals that werent monogamous, etc, and not ALL homosexuals for all time.

They go on to say that a homosexual relationship is condoned by God as long as they truly love each other and are truly homosexual.

Their biggest problem is that nowhere in Scripture does it condone it or turn a blind eye to it. In fact, sexual sin is one of the most hated by God. Hes ended entire cities and civilizations because of it!

Another is it sets a double standard and tempts marriage to become something its not. Gay people can enjoy being gay and having homosexual acts and according to them thats just peachy in Heaven, but how dare someone experiment with it or be bi-sexual? Im curious to know who if anybody falls into this mysterious category of "not truly loving" the other? Where does it say that in Scripture?

It has always amazed me that most people who say they are Christians don't practice what they preach.

The word Christian comes from to live like Christ and from all the scriptures that I have studied over the years Jesus was sent by his Father to show it was wrong to persecute his children for who they are.

Back then it was the Jews ,the prostitutes, the blacks and lepers and the good old second class citizen women they weren't even allowed to enter the church.

God gave us his son to teach us humility, tolerance and decency he will judge us on judgment day I will stand before him knowing that like all I am not perfect but I never judged or condemned his children for the way they are born.

I challenge anyone who thinks a gay person would choose to devastate their parents,to never have a normal family or go through puberty not knowing what the hell was going on and try to commit suicide at the age of 14 yrs old like my brother did because he went to a very religious school and was made to think he was evil.

So on Judgment day God will come and give us a mirror for us to take long look at ourselves and our lives lets just hope looking us is not the greatest sin of all our PREJUDICE.

So to answer there is no contradiction between a real Christian and a gay man but there is with one that supports war and the killing that goes with it.

The answers that I have seen you get so far seem to go off on an irrelevant tangent and say something like, "two wrongs somehow make a right" (I.E.: if the church ignores some commandments, like gluttony or modesty, then it is ok to ignore other inconvenient or unpopular commands too).

This implies that people simply didn't think about the question before responding, which probably indicates that they don't think deeply about these issues, period. Maybe that is the real answer.

Pitty. I was hoping for something more intellectual.

I want to start by saying I am a Christian. I am not gay. I want to say that we as Christan's need to make sure that we realize that all sin stinks to God. What I am saying is that we are all sinners. God is working in our lives to bring us to perfection through His son Jesus Christ. Some sins are easier to see than other. Smoking, drinking, foul language and homosexuality are examples but what do you think God thinks of lying, disrespecting your parents, stealing, killing, or adultery. When we put any sin on a pedestal we have a problem. We start taking a world view instead of a Bible view toward sin. God views all sin the same from telling a lie to homosexuality.

When we are born again we get a new start and here is what the bible says about what we should do..no matter what our sin is they can be forgiven but we must also do this.......Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. YOU USE TO WALK IN THESE WAYS, in the life you once lived. BUT NOW YOU MUST RID YOURSELVES of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Being gay isn't what sends you to hell, it's the acts.
A big thing we need to do is to separate the sin from the sinner. I know of people of gay people who gave their lives to the lord. They then choose to lead celibate lives.

We all have our crosses to bear and we emphasize so much on homosexuals these days that we're forgetting to also mention that God also can't stand racism, adultery, fornication, lying, murder, stealing, hypocrisy, pride, idolatry, the list goes on.
There's a whole lot of other things then we need to worry about.

The Bible talks about lots of sins...None of us are free from it..who is anyone to decide what another mans salvation is?!...If we all just worked on ourselves and loved our brothers and minded our own business....things would be a lot better, and Christians wouldn't look like idiots!

Yes, it is a contradiction . All are sinners however. If they are trying, with Gods power, to stop this sin then they can be Christians. It is a sin and through Jesus and Gods power it like EVERY other sin came be overcome!
