Seeing as praying for the sick has been clinically proven to have a negative effect on the health of the individual, I'd prefer that you keep your unhealthy prayers away from her.

"There was virtually no difference in complication rates between patients in the first two groups. But the third group, in which patients knew they were receiving prayers, had a complication rate of 59 percent, significantly more than the 52 percent in the no-prayer group."

I'm glad you put up the link. There have been several real randomized studies that all show the same thing. I found it interesting the people that new they were being prayed for did worse (again other studies had a similar result). Isn't faith a wonderful thing

I think they are not happy judging from the responses you got. How ugly of you to tell the truth!

In the first place, I would think that the variables should not be used to statistically analyze the relationship. It the studies showed significant results, it could be due to chance. There are other unknown factors that are not included in the test, like the faith, beliefs of the patients to our creator and the individual patient's lives.

If you didn't want anyone to pray for her, you shouldn't have posted this in this forum.
You know that some folks will take it as a challenge, and pray anyhow.
Tell ya what...just don't tell her that you did this, and maybe she won't find out. Then the secret prayers of anonymous believers won't affect her one way or the other, or so your "study" seems to be showing. You don't tell her, and I promise I won't tell her either...

What a bizarre posting! How silly, asking people to not pray. Would be simpler to ask not

If a Jewish doctor loses all of his patients, does he go nuts and throw a temple tantrum?

What if I prayed for your grandma NOT to recover? Would that boost her chances?
