I am sophmore in high school. I don't want a boyfriend, because you won't get serious. I have other priorities other than guys. Everyone gets up in my face about it. I am sorry I don't wanna waste my time on something that won't work. Why does everybody care?

OH MY GOSH! SOMEONE IN THIS WORLD AGREES WITH ME! i saw your question and immediately wanted to respond. I couldn't agree with you more about boyfriends. I'm also a sophmore...going to be a junior in september, and this kid asked me out and I like him and all and he's really hot, but I just didn't want a boyfriend and didn't want to feel forced to call him or hang out with him when all I want to do is hang out with my friends. And all of my friends are saying, "what's wrong with you?" but i just ignore them because I'm completely happy being single and I'll be that way for a while. I'd much rather go to say, six flags, with my friends and family then sit in a movie w/ a boyfriend. I just don't understand what's wrong with that. We're in this together. Good luck with it all. I know that I'm not changing my opinions on high school relationships just because my friends think that I should have a boyfriend. :) Let them think what they want to think.

I love that you know that you don't need a boyfriend!! Focus on your other priorities and let the others do what they want. I don't understand why they should care either. Maybe they don't understand why you don't want one at this time.

I didn't want a boyfriend in high school either, so I just pretended that I had one who lived in another school district so nobody would be the wiser. Then when I went to college I had lots of girlfriends...

People are forever thinking they have the answer to everyone else's business. Young people in particular believe it is peculiar not to want a girlfriend or boyfriend. If they are friends of yours, they will respect your decision and won't pressure you about it. If they aren't, it's none of their business. Simply say, "I cannot imagine why you would be interested".

Because they don't understand what your priorities and life mean to you the same way you understand it.Just ignore them and when they ask you why just make it simple and short.... "Because i don't want one and i have better things to worry about" thats all they need to know and should be happy with it.Good luck =}

consistent with possibility he does not, yet consistent with possibility he does. basically say do you or do you no longer care approximately me. in case you think of he does, do no longer pay attention to them in any respect, simply by fact if he does and you accuse him of no longer worrying..have faith me you will sense sorry approximately it. it is going to harm him badly if he does care and you're saying he does not. it is not a sturdy feeling :/

Maybe because a lot of girls these days don't have morals. You are smart for waiting. I am sure your parents are proud of you. There are more important things in your life right now like your schoolwork and friends. Enjoy it. You will soon have a boyfriend and believe me they take up a lot of your time and energy.

I'm in the same boat! Everyone thinks that we 'need' a boyfriend at our age. Nonsense. I don't need one either. I wouldn't mind one I just don't want to get too serious. People think that at our age we date.

wow, what a smart girl!!! don't worry about anyone else, they are probably just jealous because they wish they could be content without having a boyfriend. just when i thought all highschool girls were insane about needing a boyfriend... you are so smart. there is plenty of time for boys later!
