NO offense, but you're really grasping if you consider that a "date". It was coffee. Would you have considered it a date if you'd gone out with the group of 8? Just because a man and woman have coffee, I wouldn't go reading so much into it...it's just a cup of joe.

I'l bet he thinks it was a date, even if you don't. If you are interested, why not reciprocate. Tell him "would you like to go get some coffee? I believe I owe you a cup".

I would not call it actually a date. the fact that he paid just shows that he is a gentleman. Just let it take its course, you will know soon if something more will happen. and since he is such a gentleman, give him a chance if you have the opportunity;)

It's just hangin' out, but it's the perfect opening to planning a date.

If he paid, I'm sure he'd consider it a date if you want it to be a date. It's up to you!
