I'm now a high school senior, and I've pursued a variety of medical opportunities throughout my high school career including Health Science Technology courses, Anatomy & Physiology I, etc. I plan to major in nursing, but I want a more exciting, challenging environment than a civilian hospital setting (which I have already experienced in a full year high school course assisting nurses on a variety of units). I'm not sure if I want to do army or navy nursing- what are the differences, benefits, and requirements of both? Is there such a thing as marine nursing?

If you want to be an RN in the military u have to have your BSN. In the Navy u can be on a ship with an air wing unit, hopital or Marine Corps units. Of course if u go on ship u will see the world i been to about 20 countries when i was station with the Marines as a corpsman. I cant answer your Army questions but if u plan on being a RN u still have several years before u join anyway unless u plan on being a medic/Corpsman then u dont need a degree. Good Luck Semper Fi

Army Only: There is no MOS for enlisted nurses in the Army. If you want to be one then you have to go to Nursing school (4 year), and within 6 months of graduation or upon graduation get in touch with an Army medical Services Recruiter.

Good Luck

I do not feel you'll be able to uncover very many eighty five 12 months olds right here on Yahoo that may aid you. You could higher off discovering any one's grandfather. If you wish solutions from a Navy Vietnam Vet... a million. Enlisted, I used to be going to be drafted. two. My uncle endorsed it. three. USN. four. E-five. five. Repaired electronics. 6. Study nursing and when you graduate, apply in the Marine Corps so that you will have an exciting career to be with the Marines when invading other countries.

Marines have no Medical cadre of their own, they use Navy Personnel.

you must already have your 4 year degree(LPN won't cut it) before you can persue a Commission as a Nurse.

I Agree, if you can get your Nursing degree before you enlist it would be to your benefit. As for which service you want to join, I suggest taking a look at
