yes. Myself and my wife are both Christians but neither of us believe there is anything wrong with trick or treating. Now I will say that both of us are careful about the type of costume that we pick out for our children - nothing satanic or goury. I think its always important to realize we were all once kids too. We also take them and supervision is definately recommended in today's society.

I do, but I will only ever allow them to dress up as cute things; never as anything scary or "trashy". I was not allowed to go trick-or-treating when I was a child because my parents did not like the satanic background of the holiday. I am aware of its roots, and choose to ignore them, because it is not about that anymore. It's about little kids playing dress-up and getting candy and seeing their friends.

I don't have children presently, but if I did I would take them trick-or-treating until they reached the age where they could go with their friends. I would not let them gorge themselves on candy when they came home, however. I would dole it out a bit at a time. Too many sweets=tummyache.

No! Do you know the origins of 'trick or treat'?
Druid priests would go knocking on doors asking for 'trick or treat'. The 'treat' were any virgin girls in the household. These would be raped and sacrificed if surrendered.
The 'trick' would be a curse placed on the house, resulting in the death of members of the house and more.

BTW the jack o lanterns were placed on the front step of the house, facing out if the treat were given and in if not. The material burnt in the lantern was not tallow but human fat.

Great celebration huh? When kids come to my door and ask for a 'trick or treat' i tell them to come back the next day - with their parents - the next day if they wish to be given lollies (candy) if they want to.

I will, when I have kids. It's a favorite American pastime in my opinion, just do it safely.

No. We have a fall festival at our church and we go there. There are just to many weird people who want to act stupid on Halloween.
