eat lean meats and vegetables and fruit. absolutely no junk, work out with alot of cardio. run 3 miles 4 times a week. control your caloric intake. You should lose 2 pounds a week this way

drink lots and lots of water... go to the bathroom a lot.
do a variation of 25 regular crunches in the morning, 25 oblique crunches at noon and another 25 regular crunches before bed then gradually increase every week you can do this everyday, but with the cardio workout try doing it every other day. So that you give your muscles some time to relax.
run/powerwalk in the morning and evening for at least 45 minutes each time. Also if you want to tone up your thighs and buttocks you should spend about 30 minutes switching off on squats and lunges. Avoid all sweets/junk food, no soda, not even diet. No candy, but sugarless gum is good. Split your meals, instead of eatting 3 large meals a day try six small/tiny meals. If you feel hungry for a snack don't go for the junkfood try vegetables or fruits. This is what I'm starting to do now too, to tone up for SUMMER! hope this helps.

I know its possible, with strict dieting and exercise, to lose 1 or 2lbs per week. So you should be able to lose about 8 lbs in a month...16lbs in two.
Drink a lot of water.
Cut out soda, fast food, and meal skipping from your diet plans.
Eat 6 small filling meals each day.
Try to fit 1hr exercise in your routine three days per week.
