God actually talked to some Jewish guys, some Christian guys, and some Muslim guys.
Billions died.
Oops.
(But at least they died for a purpose, right? It's all God's will, right?)

Ever see Star Wars?
I am not saying this is gods reasoning but think about it. If a video appeared with some great and powerful being floating in clouds or some such who says "I am that I am" we wouldn't have any more reason to believe it was real then any other movie. If that worked George Lucus would get to pick the Pope.
Either god has his reasons for staying out of our public lights or god doesn't exists. I can think of some excellent reasons not the least of which is were supposed to solve our own problems as much as we can. If god had a 1-800 number then we would all sit on our buts and call him every time we had any problem and that would be annoying on an epic scale even for a divine being. About the 30 zillianth time someone called 1-800 CREATOR for lottery numbers god would quit us for good. I am just as happy he only handles special cases.

At an infant/toddler class we were asked a question about a theoretical problem. We were asked to speak up and interrupt at the point where we think we should intervene and pick up the child.
They described the following:
"A baby is crawling under a table. As he crawls, he gets his leg caught between the wall and a table leg. He stops, and pulls on his leg. He adjusts his position and tries again. He looks around the room. He adjusts his position and tries again. He looks around the room. He makes some mewling noises. He pulls hard on his leg. He cries out. He drops to the ground and pulls, then gets back up and pulls. He cries out a bit. He pulls again several times. He drops to the ground and cries, unmoving."
We called out multiple times, and each time she said, "No."
By the time she finished the story, we were convinced she was an inhuman monster. We begged her to explain, some of us quite angry.
She waited until we got over our little fits, and then explained.
"You should never go rescue them,...visibly. You should wait until it is clear they have no other option, have reached the point where they've tried everything else they can so that they learn the most they can about getting out of such a situation, even if they are uncomfortable (watch to be sure they aren't permanently hurting themselves, not damaging themselves), and when they reach that point, THEN move forward, staying hidden, move the table JUST ENOUGH that they feel it and could possibly get their leg out, then back away quietly so they don't see you. Repeat as necessary."
We were stunned. We had been enlightened, all but one of us. She asked, "Why?"
The teacher answered us: "If the baby sees you, you become a permanent part of her method of solving problems. She will stop trying, look for you, and start crying rather than continue to attempt to improve her situation. She will become dependent upon you to solve her problems. IF YOU LOVE THESE CHILDREN YOU WILL NEVER LET THAT HAPPEN.
I thought about that for a long time, and made a connection almost immediately that I'll share here.
Why would God do things any differently?
Keep speaking up.

God wants you to have faith in him and the only way for that to happen is for you to read your bible and just have faith in God because He is a wounderful creator and He did so many things like healing people and curing them of demons...and remember that everything happens for a reason and He has a purpose for everyone and everything. And Hes not hiding because every miracle is Gods doing.

God created us with free will. That means we have the ability to choose for ourselves the path we take. We can accept by faith that Jesus Christ is the Savior of our lives and confess that we are sinners in need of His forgiveness(being saved) or we can choose to be lost. God created Adam and Eve. He walked among them but free will also allowed them to sin. You see God wants us to love Him for who He is. God wants us to use our free will and say that we want God in our lives. We are not robots. We have to make a choice. Also in the Bible it tells of Christ ruling the earth for 1000 years. Even after God has ruled here on earth for all to see. There will still be some who won't follow Him. I hope this helps!

The Pharisees, in Jesus' day, saw His miracles and even still asked Him for a sign. But He could have impressed them, but He did not give them one. He knew that a sign would not make them believe. And the same is true today. God could do as you suggested, but men still would not believe because their hearts are so hard.

He did prove that he was there, again and again. He made blind people see, lame people walk, and raised people from the dead to prove Himself. People didn't believe Him then and they wouldn't believe Him now. They'd probably have Him killed, again...
