I mean, I ask obviously metaphorical questions (i.e. that the harmony from "God Only Knows" is 'heaven-sent') and I get literal answers. It's nutty! I amt reported all the time for asking things like "Is God ignopotent" (a fire-maker) and "Is polygamy in the Bible" and these questions, that completely follow guidelines, get deleted. Sometimes those Christians (love you Ent Wife, and Debra M., Uncle Wayne, etc.) who don't know me better say they don't appreciate silly or funny questions from non-Christians. What else am I supposed to do, though, when I'm about to lose my account because so many people refuse to be realistic in their answers AND in their reports. That, or I am accused of "ranting" for writing the truth. If someone cannot stand the truth or a sense of humor, I'm sure there's a death & destruction category. Why answer questions that are obviously well-meaning and metaphorical as literal questions?

Thank you! :-D

Honestly, a rude answer is fine. But to hit that flag because you don't agree? C'mon y'all!

Great answers! How the heck will I choose a best one?

Why, thank you, Southpaw! I like to rant with the best of 'em when I DO rant! Friendship returned.

haha! Well, unfortunately as a Christian I have to admit that the literal thinking of most people on here drives me nuts! I don't know why people can't seem to move beyond their 3rd grade Sunday School level of thinking about faith. "ignopotent!" I love it! lol!

In this particular case, I do not think it is so much WHAT people respond, as that they DO respond. This means they at least read what you asked, and even if they could or would not give an intelligent answer, they at least read and absorbed what you had to say. That is a beginning, and I can only hope these people someday grow up and give mature answers. As for people reporting you, that will always happen as long as it is a contraversial question, and religious questions are. Just keep asking the same questions, only worded differently, and you will eventually get your point across and hopefully get good answers.

I have never reported anyone, but I have read questions that I thought were put downs and given rude answers in response. I think people who write questions should perhaps watch how they ask their questions and perhaps put a disclaimer such as "I mean no disrespect to anyone, but I would like to know..." We who answer should not assume that the questions are meant as put downs. We should put ourselves in the other persons shoes and try to think like they think. If we wanted to know the answer to this question how would we ask. Maybe then we could actually share our beliefs and knowledge.

Duhhhhh! Sorry, could not resist as I am sure others will fall prey to it too.

I confess if I saw Ignopotent I would not have understood your intent, nor cared. I would not have flagged you even if you asked if he was Impotent. You ask, if I feel it is worthy or whatever I will either move on or comment and possibly rip you to shreds?

Until Yahoo somehow improves things to the point where folks who block/report people left and right for simply disagreeing with them end up being blocked themselves... I'd suggest you respond in kind. In any case, it only shows them to be childish and unwilling to listen to anything they don't like and don't agree with--and that's never likely to change, no matter what Yahoo does to "improve" things here.

Actually I HAVE written that, several times. funny how some people report a person for it. They will say it is because it doesn't follow the rules, but in reality it is because they are crybabies.

Somehow, the way my luck has been running, I know if I answer this question the way I'd like I'll get reported.
