I'm not completely over I and 61 inches and 135 lbs.. The weight requirment is 127 So military standards I'm almost 10 over but I have a big chest. and its not like im out of shape.. I use to play tackel football when i was heavier alot.. Has anyone getten in over weight and if so how much

Sure you can. My hubs went in at 220 at the age of 17. Came out of Boot weighing in at 169. :D

Yes you can go into the army being overweight but I must warn you about something. The army is not nice about this issue. My friend had a brother who was overweight and he decided to join the army. The Sargent looked him over and put him on a very strict diet. The diet was no food, only water and constant exercise. That overweight man became very very slim. Just thought I should let you know.

No soda, candy of any kind, small burgers, walk and run an hour a day will help you get that ten lbs off soon. Take vitamins to ensure you get all those you need. I walk and run 4.5 miles a day and lost about 5 lbs a week. Good Luck

you must meet standards before you can enlist. you cannot be overweight by more than a couple of pounds, and then you must be under Body Fat limitations.

I know that with the AF they will not take you until you are at the wieght limit. My husband had to lose THREE pounds before they let him in.

They will do a tape test to check your body fat and if you pass your good, if not and you are overweight you cannot joinh

Don't worry, when you are done with basic training you will be at your ideal weight.
