It is what is viewed by the masses as being "bad." The general population determines this, and it was determined long before our parents came along. Society has given on what is considered bad and what is not. I know that when I was younger, piss was as bad a word as the worst word you can think of. Today it is fairly common. Tomorrow the words you mentioned may be as comon as dang.

Conquering peoples a long time ago didn't want the peoples old language to exist any longer so the older languages became "bad". For some reason only certain words remain "bad".

Technically there is no bad word. I'm so glad you asked this. Bad words are only bad because people told them they were bad. For example, Black People don't like the word (n.i.g.g.e.r) this is only because their parents and friends told them it was offencive to them if people would just give it (all bad words in general) up then there would be no bad words. So i personally don't get offended when people call me these "bad words" because i know that it is really just a sequence of mouth movements and vocal chord noises. It only has a meaning if you want it to. thank you. Please rate mine the best because it is!!!!!!!

A "bad word" is a word that makes you cringe when you hear someone say it. Or its something that is meant to hurt someone. If you say a bad word, but you don't mean it... then its not considered a bad word, its considered a word thats not exactly decent. LOL

It is not the word, per se, but the intent. One the other hand what we call "vulgar" words are considered inappropriate because the are considered "low-class." The word vulgar comes from the Latin vulgaris, which means a person of low social standing.

the fact that someone did'nt like the way that word sounded so they dubbed it "a bad word"..kinda silly eh?!

although you gotta admit F**k is the only word in the english language that acts as a verb, noun, adverb and adjective and can compose a sentence entirely upon variations of said word..

example: "F the F'ing F'er"..

:D
but yes..the power of a few deciding what you and I should be allowed to say..

Common agreement. If everyone wanted they could make any word bad or good. Words are vocal and visual symbols.

some people are offended by certain types of language.... i think that words like curse words show a sign of disrespect

also.. if you really wanted to put someone down by saying a curse word it just makes you look stupid.. there are more hurtful words that are not curse words and make you sound intelligent

like imbecile
