Ok this may be a shot in the dark, but I'm looking for someone out there who can tell me the paint code for the Maroon that Ford used in 1979. The truck is orange right now but some of it is peeling off and the original color was Maroon. Now my next question is, is this truck worth restoring to make profit on?

I forgot to mention the paint code in the door is rubbed off and I have $300 in the truck right now including the purchase price. It does need a bed, fenders, doors, cab corners, and hood to fix it right. It's fairly solid, but the only way to get rid of rust is to replace it with new panels.

there should be a plate under the hood or on the door that will tell you the origional paint #, NAPA also carries books on paint colors and can probably look up the code for a 79 if you have an idea of the color, also if you can't find the code they can computer read the color at any PPG store.
I would say that right now you would have more in the vehicle than whats it's worth to fix up if you restored it.
