The children of illegal aliens should not be automatic citizens. This needs to be changed.

Yes. If not here legally provide no back door. It's not 1789 and circumstances have changed a lot since then. I know that at least one border town stopped recording these births. They provided all medical necessities and told them bye-bye at the appropriate time. Had a BIG reduction in the maternity ward as a result.
And no I will not rat the city out.

We should protect the border well enough so the illegal mother never passes. We wouldn't have to worry about amended the Constitution.

The clause had nothing to do with slaves...they weren't citizens. I don't think we should re-write the Constitution at this point. The right of citizenship for all natural born people is a basic right and tradition of this country.

I do not! It is not the babies fault their parents are illegal and if they have a chance at a better life as a US citizen then it should be given to them.

Yes, I think it should be clarified to say that (but not applied retroactively.)
I think a parent should have to be a permanent resident or a citizen, not a temporary worker, as well.

No, I think the US citizens should stop paying illegal people that work there cause if mexican, guatemaltecos,hondureños,salvadoreños etc etc go there and want their babies to be US citizens is cause they pay good money for dumb dirty works..so get your us citizens working for yourselves and stop paying for others to do your job..

the law states they are NOT citizens and only these corrupt politicians are saying that they are citizens, but this will change soon too. they will ALL have to leave

It doesn't need to be amended its already written that way but no one wants to enforce it.
