How to file a suit for failure to honour a contract in the UK?

Is it more advantageous to file or use a mediator and how does one start the process?

Initially, it is better to use the services of a mediator so that amicable settlement of the dispute could be made. If there is no settlement, file an action in court for the enforcement of the contract.
