I think it's b.s. when a boy is punished for consentual sex. Punish both or none.

My understanding is that if anyone is charged, it's always the older person. If boys are charged more often, it's because the older person in the relationship is most often the boy.

I know there have been cases of 17-yr-old girls being charged with sex crimes, and forced to register as sex offenders, because they performed oral sex on a 15-yr-old boyfriend.

AGREES 100% i am a female and think that it is only right to charge both or none. the problem is that in todays world everyone automatically assumes that the female is the victim,. men can be victims too. I have a couple friends that are registered sex offender because they was 16/17 area and the CONSENTUAL female was 15/16 area. The bad part is a lot of times it is still left up to the parents if they want to press the charges and not the female herself.

Because the girl is seen as being the victim and the more vulnerable one whereas the boy is stronger so he "automatically" forced the girl to have sex with him. I agree consensual sex shouldn't be punished by just one sex. It's illegal in all 50 states in federal law for anyone under the age of 18 to have sex. However no one cares about this law and just does it anyway.

Is the boy an adult and the girl underage? because that would be the only case when someone is charged. and as far as I know it goes both ways. If the girl is an adult 18+ and she has sex with a boy 17- then she would be charged as well. if they are bother under 18 neither will be charged with anything

If you're both under age, its not a crime. Whomever is 18+, whether that is the girl OR the boy, will get in trouble if the person they're having relations with is underage. It is more common to hear about men getting in trouble when it comes to this subject so I can understand how youre seeing this, but there are plenty of stories where women have gotten in trouble.

But i do agree. In todays world women get away with a lot of things because they're seen as innocent victims.

Best wishes

if the girl is 18 and boy is 15 the girl would be charged, at least they would here.

if they are both under the age of consent neither get charged. and if the guy is the one older then he gets charged.
