In my opinion, I don't think God ever intended for a woman to work outside the home. He told Adam that he would have to toil, instead of just work. He told Eve, she would have much pain in chilbirth. Biblical women were usually portrayed as domestic in nature, working around the home, and tending things there. A woman was created to be a man's helpmate. The man's role was to work.
Society, and the women's lib movement changed that a lot.(the world) Women wanted to do men's work to make them equal. Now they have men's jobs, and it is harder for a man to find a good job because women do them. I believe a woman's duty is to raise the children, and I don't think God intends for other people to raise our children. We are, as parents, given instruction as to how to raise our children in God's Word. It doesn't say anything about dropping them off for someone else to do it. It is our duty as parents.

Ok, I think you need a little history lesson, and while your reading this remember I'm a Roman Catholic. When the bible was written, it was written in a time when women were expected to be doing the at home chores and it was written at a time were women were also quite simply seen as birthing machines. So of course when the bible was written by HUMAN men, they put in that women were meant to be at home. Women were also seen as "stupider" as men at the time because they not allowed to be educated. In the modern day and age, however, women are allowed to be educated, and, in my school, the girls make up the majority of the honour roll, I myself am on it, and I have a 98% grade in my religion class, within my Catholic Highschool. If women are supposed to be a man's little helper, then how come we often seem to exceed what a man can do? For instance, I'm also Canadian and we've already had a female Prime Minister. The only reason Hilary Clinton will not win the Democratic Nomination or the position of President is because she's has no personality or charisma in comparison of Obama, and not because God is against a women being president, if God was against a female being president, why would God even let her run? Next time you want to use God as an excuse to be sexist, do your homework first, moron.

I don't think God would have a problem with it, so long as they are not letting the daycare do all of the parenting, and that can happen very easily. Priority should be the family over a career, that goes for both men and women.

That is a pretty loaded question! you will get some strong opinions on this one! God does approve of women working outside the home as evidenced in Proverbs 31.15-18 The virtuous woman works inside and outside the home. She tends to her family and deals in real estate and has a vinyard of her own. She makes her own money too. I don't know if there are any Proverbs 31 women today, (it's a hard life) but God knows the situation of every woman in the workplace. He wants the best for us and sometimes working outside the home is best.

Christian woman work and so they do put their children in daycare. The Bible is silent on this matter. Being a good parent is teaching your child to love God and that is taught in the Bible.

He wants us to love and care for our children first. If one has to put them in daycare, then God understands the reasons. If it's for selfish reasons to get more stuff, than that's another story.

I think God loves unity in the family so if that is what it takes to support the family better I don't see a problem. In this society it takes two paychecks to pay the bills the old sterotype of women staying at home and the man taking care of all the responsibilities is really outdated.

Of course! What would make you think he wouldn't approve? You, being out on the street with your child because you didnt want to go to work...now that's what he wouldn't approve of!

Assuming these women you speak of are Christians, as long as they personally spend time raising their children in the way of the Great Commission, God would not oppose.

I think he'd prefer the situations were different and that the children were being raised by their families and not daycare workers.. But that may just be me. ;)
