I started growing dreads, listening to reggae, and I love it. I'm a christian too. So am I wrong?

Stop thinking rasta's don't wash their hair!! That is so stupid. I wash my hair once a week!!

I can't grow the dreads, but love listening to reggae also. I'm a Christian as well. If you start following the teachings of Rasta, then your a Rastafarian. I don't agree with many of the Rasta teachings, smoking the Ganga, etc. Their are many reggae songs with Christian themes. Some are Psalms, others promote positive values. Any type of music can be good or bad depending on your motives. Enjoy!!

Why should you care what other people think? If you want to have dreads and listen to reggae thats all you. You can still be a christian. However, becoming a true rastafarian will take a lot more work than you think it will. Be yourself.

Not necessarily wrong. But are you ready to elevate Haile Selassie I to the position of being an incarnation of Jah? It's about more than dreads and reggae (although many Christians I know certainly listen to reggae, and a few do have dreads). Read the Holy Piby, an influential Rastafarian text (online at http://www.sacred-texts.com/afr/piby/index.htm ), and compare and contrast it to the Holy Bible. Study carefully, comparing the two religions, and see if you think they're fully compatible.

It aint wrong until you start believing what they believe, they put their faith in man; Christians put their faith in God. You can love and be apart of the culture, but being a rasta is more than a lifestyle, its a belief system so watch yourself with that.

Yes according to the Bible. Rastarfarians believe that the black man is God. They also say that Rastafari is the Christ because He's from the line of David as the Bible said Jesus would come from but as we can all see Rastafari's name isn't Jesus and he's over 2,000 years late!
