Surfing is free....but if you need to buy yourself a surfboard, wetsuit etc....it can cost you a bit! Depending on what type of board you want...long board, thruster etc or what wettie you want...steamer, short arm short leg etc the cost will vary. Plus if you can buy a second hand board it will be a lot cheaper than a new one which can retail for over $500.

My hubby knows a lot more but is at work right now so if you want more info...contact me thru my profile here on Answers and I will ask him later. He is a sponsored surfer here in WA and surfs all the time so knows prices and products better than I do.

There's no charge for surfing. All you have to do is pay for transportation, and your meals and accommodation once you get there. As you don't say where your starting point is, it's difficult to tell how much your transportation is going to cost. And as you don't specify the level of accommodation you want, that's another imponderable. So - you can either fill in a few gaps or google up a travel agency......

Provided you have your surfboard and wetsuit (it's winter) you will only need money to get to the beach.

By the way, in Australia it is called "transport". "Transportation" was the sentence handed out to many of the early settlers in this country and the word is not used otherwise.

I agree with old lady.
We don't ask you to pay to surf, it's free.
The rest depends on where you stay and what you eat etc.
Maybe you should look up some back-packer sites etc. If that's what you're after.
