This is the whole arguement of creation versus evolution. Being a Christian I believe that there is a combination of both. God created the means for life, oxygen, water, carbon based life forms, but he let it evolve into what it is today. While God is all knowing yet he does not affect free will. He lets life run its course without interference unless absolutely necessary life the great flood and and sending Jesus down to save mankind.
While many good things evolved, so have bad. Parasites and disease evolved to help keep balance. If there wasn't disease and death the world would become overrun with all types of animals. Don't forget we aren't the only species that parasites affect. Imagine if rabbits lived for 20 years a piece and had babies like they do. The world would be covered in those furry little things.
So while some might think that God is cruel for letting these creatures evolve no matter the size, being all knowing he knew that they were necessary to help keep the balance of life.

Yes.
I don't believe the Bible gives specific information about why God created parasitical creatures. We only know that life in the Garden of Eden was intended to be free of death, disease, and other worries. After Adam and Eve sinned, death entered the picture and all manner of causes of death and disease became possible.
I don't know if human parasites were created with all other animals -- I imagine they were -- and I don't know if they were originally intended to be beneficial and their purpose changed after the fall or what.
Either way there are many things that bring disease and misery to humans. It's all a result of our refusal to obey God's original plan, which was life forever in paradise.
Fortunately he's got a plan to get us back to paradise. :-)

Well, for that matter:
Why did He create 'snake'??
He has done more damage than can even be dreamed of re parasites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
... because, of course, it was 'snake'/serpent who gave Adam and Eve the forbidden fruit - which resulted in a terrible curse upon all things, and made these nasty parasites so nasty!!
For your answer to both these Q's, I suggest you get a copy of the newly released most revelatory book, TWO BIRDS ... ONE STONE, by Denis Towers.
Indeed it has the most earth-shattering revelations in it that I have ever seen, besides holy writ itself, that is!
I got my copy through Xulonpress.com, but I believe it is available via all sorts of online outlets.
Good Luck with it.

I have wondered about mosquitos. But then again, they feed the birds and bats with hemoglobin they would not normally drink. Flies help disinfect, and eat things no one else would.
Science is finding wonders in the insect world, and will continue to until the end.
Dis ease comes from dis harmony with natures laws.
If we were as immune as we ought to be, mosquitos wouldn't be such a problem.

The Earth was created to live in perfect harmony, but just like that perfect car you built, its bound to screw itself over.

It would seem that way, the Christians of course retort with it's due to man sinning blah blah eve fruit blah.....But even with that they are still saying that God created it, just that it is our fault.....cause you see if a perfect God was to blame for something the world would just collapse on itself.
