I am sorry you can't take care of your dog anymore, people do not realize how much care they are. I have 3 dogs, I would give my husband up before my dogs. Please take it to a shelter so they can find it a good home, which I could have your dog, I take in unwanted animals and give them a good home

Make sure you chose a shelter that is No-Kill. Make sure that they screen their applicants. Go to Petfinders.com and you will see a listing of rescue organizations all over the country. You can also pull up a copy of their applications. I would also suggest looking into a German Shepherd Rescue group. Don't be afraid to ask for references. If you email back to me and tell me what state you are in I might be able to help you. Rescuing and working with area Rescues is what I do. You must reference some rescue groups are better than others.

Get online and see if there is a rescue group in your area, or generally by breed. I know that I am registered for a particular breed that I would like to rescue.
Contact the shelters and vets in your area and see if they have anyone looking for a shepherd, not everyone can handle them so it's important that you find someone who will take good care of your's

along with about 8,000 other homeless shepherds available today in the US
type german shepherd rescue into google to find rescues, if he is a purebred especially registered they will usually take them in, for unregistered and mixes you may have to contact several to find one that has spaces to take one in, If you can;t find a rescue then try the SPCA try to avoid pounds and animal control shelters as they usually only hold dogs for a few days if they don't get adopted they euthanize them
