'Balut' from the Philippines! Boiled duck eggs with the whole embryo intact. Drinking the juices is ok but eating the boiled embryo part is pretty hard to swallow! Taste like normal chicken eggs though in the end. But the thought of it still makes me squirm.

Once, in New Zealand, I was invited to a Maori feast, and was offered a dish containing creamy-white soft, slippery things. I was told they were 'mountain oysters'. I ate one and it did taste like an oyster. And then I was told that they were really lamb's testicles, harvested when they turn a ram-lamb into a wether-lamb. I didn't eat the second one!
