Never use soap, because it is too drying. To shave your knee put it straight out, like you are standing up, and gently shave your knee.

There are a few rules for a perfect shave (this applies to both men & women):
1) Make sure you use a quality razor...one that has multiple blades is preferable.
2) Make sure the razor is nice and sharp. If you have especially course hair, make sure you replace your razor every few shaves. Otherwise, the dull blade can cause irritation, bumps, ingrowns...it basically will drag across your skin (ouch)!
3) If you are especially sensitive (my knees are a problem area too), try using a pre-shave treatment. They normally come in the form of a gel or oil. Mario Badescu makes the most amazing one; it's a thick blue gel you apply to the skin underneath your shaving cream:

4) Don't skimp on quality! Most drugstore shaving creams don't have enough emollients to let your razor glide over your skin. Brave Soldier (an athletic skincare line from California) makes this super-thick cream called Brave Shave. It was originally created for athletes who need to have super-smooth skin to perform. If it's good enough for them, it's definitely good enough for us!

5) And lastly...slather on some moisturizer after shaving.
Hope this helps! :-)

use shaving cream, the problem is the soap not the razor or you, those razors are good razors, soap is not good, shaving cream helps you get a MUCH better and closer shave.

I agree with most of all the other answers... However, there were a few forgotten tips.... Make sure you allow the hair on you legs to soak, it makes the hair softer and easier to shave and before you shave your legs, exfoliate them with a scrub, that way all the dead skin is gone and you are left with just the hair... Never dry shave !!! You'll get ugly bumps and a rash... Good luck...

use a little bit of shaving cream. Soap doesn't work. ANs also, bend your knees because that flattens out the little wrinkles on yoiur knee.
