My cat was asleep and I was petting him below his ribs on his left side. There was a hard sort of lump just below the skin. Was this just a bowel movement he has yet to pass or maybe a skin tag? My grandmother's dog has a skin tag but it didn't really feel like that. Sorry, I'm not making much sense, I'm just wondering what this could be. Thanks!

How large is the lump? Could be a cyst or a fatty tumor. You should have the vet check him out.

The best thing is to have it checked by teh vet. could be a tumor and even cancerous so have it checked.

yeah that's bad have him checked just too make sure.
it's probably nothing big but just too be sure.
