Considering how much Christians have actually trashed the bible throughout history, it might comfort some. Hell in my opinion some (so-called) christians, would prefer to write their own bible.
Did you know that the orignal christian bible had 72 books in it. Then Protestant religion took over and today it has only 65? Did you know that certain religious groups asked to have stories such Saddam and Gamorra (sp) because they found it preverse?
Now some might understand why i say I believe in GOD just not in the church or the church system.

I don't really see how it would make a difference, since we live under the New Testament now. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins is when the New Testament came into effect, and we no longer have to make sacrifices because of failing the old law (Old Testament). I don't know if I would be unhappy if the Old Testament never existed, but I sure know I would be very unhappy if we were not living under the New Testament (where Jesus takes covers our sins if we are Christians).

Is this a real question or another stupid one? I'm not sure. The old testament is just as valuable as the new testament. Having both shows the continuity of God throughout the Bible as being the pursuer of mankind. God throughout the old testament and new testament was persuing the children of Israel through the Abrahamic covenant, mosianic covenant, & davidic covenant. God's promises of a deliverer in the old testament were fulfilled in Jesus Christ and the thousands of years of prophesies regarding his coming were all fullfilled. The Bible is complete from cover to cover and spans the course of human existance from the beginning to the end of the world.
The Bible doesn't need excuses. And anyone who has read it and understood it knows it. If someone has no interest in understanding it, or can't intellectually grasp it, then they'll just throw stones at it. Which kind of person are you?

No because the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed so you can't have one without the other. So if you take out the Old Testament then there wouldn't be a need to have a Bible because without the New Testament some of the things in the Bible would be useless because you don't know it's origin and the Old Testament supports the New Testament. So no I don't t think it would make life easier or happier if there wasn't an Old Testament and if there wasn't a need for the Old Testament God wouldn't have men waste their time trying to write it down as he revealed it to them if it wasn't important because everything in the Bible is important.

You are clearly wanting me to bash the Holy Old Testament. It is not necessarily an enjoyment to read all the time. However, it is the Old Testament that our Lord Jesus Christ confirmed. He did not change a thing from the OT.
He gave us the new covenant. I am happy for it, because I am afraid I would make it by law to my heavenly home. This life is not about our happiness. God is more interested in our character than our comfort.
Sorry to disappoint you, but that is where I stand. It is God's Word no matter if I like it or not.

The Old and New Testament go hand in hand with each other. There would be no New Testament without the Old. The only one's I ever hear complain about it are the ones who know they are committing sin and wish to do away with the Old , thinking that if they do away with it they arent sinners. But the thing is what Jesus said in the New Testament, Jesus also said in the Old.

The Old Testament is the foretelling of the New Testatment.
Most of what the Old Testatment has to tell us is how people were fools and God always making "Covenants" with them to help them back on their feet after they fell. The final "Covenant" was delivared with Jesus Christ.
I think of it as learning math. First, it's necessary to learn numbers (genisis). Then you can learn to add, subtract. Soon multiplication happens. Some will take algerbra (which is where I was personally stuggling and crying) ... and once they grasp the knowledge of algerbra, they can advance to geometry and calculus. I see too many people who stop after learning the numbers.
Another metaphore is roads. The old testatment is a dirt road. You don't know where it's taking you, but there are basic rules to follow. Even following the rules (Stop signs)won't gurantee you passage to your destination (heaven)... Then Jesus comes along and builds "Interstates". So, sure, stop signs and stop lights are functional on side roads, but not to helpful on the freeway ... so, all of Jesus' teaching and sacrifices trumph the OT.

If you grasp that the Holy Bible is progressive revelation, you understand that the Old Testament is full of types, shadows and pictures that foretell the coming Messiah, while the New Testament is the fulfillment of the Old Testament predictions perfectly in Jesus Christ. The Old Testament does not need any excuses.

That is what Marcion suggested in the 2nd century. For this, he was called a heretic.
I think Christianity would be a better religion had his faction won, but I'm afraid most modern day Christians would prefer to have more mythology, more rules/laws, and more excuses than less, so, no, they would happier if there were an intermediate testament.
