So many of the people have got after me for challenging the G & L lifestyle, and yet I try to stay out of that section. I ask questions about G & L persons that lead a life contrary to my and many others spiritual beliefs. Yet they demand that we include them in our fellowships. Athiests pop in and ridicule our beliefs and bash us, and yet many of you don't consider that persecution or "hate speach". So why do you come to fight us? If our beliefs are untrue or have no basis, why must you oppose them? Is it because you hate God so much? I mean what is you motivation for coming against us? Do you feel guilty?
Christians are compelled to share our faith, I am certian that we don't always do it correctly, but these are troubled times, I believe a message of peace in Christ is in order. Why are you compelled to share your unfaith, or come against us if you don't believe? Are you worried about a God you don't believe in? Are you concerned about your lifestyle being wrong?

WOW 25 answers in the 1st 8 mins, with only one or two positive remarks.

Now after 20 min I have 40 answers. The problem is that now of yu are really answering the question. You are spouting you right to be here, which I don't argue, but you dont answer the question as to why. What is so threatening to you about the Christian Lifestyle, if you don't believe in it? Also, if you are G or L why do you find it necessary to demand a presence in a fellowship of persons that believe your lifestyle is in direct violation of Gods word?

Sorry I didn't check previous answers, if your so upset about it why answer? (what 2 pts is 2 pts right?)

God loves you, He lives in all believers in Christ. I don't want to change for your glory, I want to effect change for Christ's glory. So do other Christians. We just only want to see you there.

I suppose many of you did not really understand my question as most of you did not answer the fine points. Some of you did, and regardless if I agree or not, I appreciate all of your responses.

My question is not so much to get an answer as it is to see how fast and how many of you attack that which you are not familiar with. Some of you base your answer on past experience with Christianity as a "Don't do this" or "Thou shalt not" belief system. When in fact there a lot more do's in the Bible than there are don'ts.

I offer this question for the community to review, in the hope I can continue to get the message of God out to you. Which is Seek Christ for forgiveness, and repent of your sins, I did it, many others have as well, and you can too.

Romans 8:1 For there is now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus.

This is an open forum for questions and answers regarding religion and spirituality. That is what I do. Belief in a God is not a requirement.

Have you ever considered investigating beliefs that aren't your own? Perhaps you could learn something from being here.

This is not a forum for proselytizing..

God and Jesus Christ are one and the same (John 10:30) so they don't need to express love for one another. God IS LOVE. God is Holy and God is a Spirit (John 4:24) so God IS HOLY SPIRIT. And since Jesus Christ is also GOD (John 1:1) and CREATOR (John 1: 1-3) and since Jesus Christ is also Holy and Jesus Christ is also a Spirit - logically Jesus Christ is also Holy Spirit. There are three that bear witness in heaven, The Father, the Word (Jesus Christ Revelation 19:13) and the Holy Spirit AND THESE THREE ARE ONE (1 John 5:7). That's why when a person is saved, they are commanded to repent and be water baptized (identifying yourself with death and burial INTO Christ's death and burial Romans 6:& 4), - which is baptism in the NAME OF (that's ONE NAME of) Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19) and that is precisely because Father, Son and Holy Spirit are ONE (1 John 5:7).

I sincerely believe that if, in being "compelled to share your faith", the sharing was done with humor, grace, tolerance, and a total lack of attachment to the outcome, you would not find yourself "bashed". That you feel compelled to challenge "the gay life style" would imply that you believe that is a choice, and not biological. So you go there why - ? To bring peace? Or to instigate disharmony? Why shouldn't everyone who comes with an open heart be welcome to join your fellowships?

As for the rest of your question, this is not the "Christianity" forum. It is about spirituality, in all of it's many diverse and wonderful forms. As I recall, that is one of the most sacred tenets of our Constitution - freedom to express religious differences.

And no, I am not one tiny bit worried about my lifestyle being "wrong". I welcome and celebrate diversity, not worry and get fearful about it. How 'bout you?

EDIT: sorry you don't see an answer to your questions here. I tried!
Please don't give me being with you in glory another thought- honestly. I just don't need it, no matter what you think.

LAST EDIT: she probably won't see this, but why on earth would little contry girl believe that? My life and me heart are so full, and they are not constrained by Christianity. It does not mean an automatic loss, to not believe as you all do. Please, open your minds to this!

You're no different from us, then, by your own admission.

If you're going to the LGBT section and asking them about their lives and how they behave and so on as relates to your god and your book, how are you any different? I'm not gay - I wouldn't go there for that reason. I have no reason to go there. Why do you feel compelled to? Why do you feel compelled to judge us all based on your book? How are you spreading the message of Christ if you're bothering people who just want to be allowed to live their lives? Why is it so hard to believe that a person can be gay and believe in God?

When you and others like you stop directing questions at us, I'm sure many will leave. You ask us a direct question, then whine about us answering it. Do you see the dichotomy there?

I think you answered your own question right here.

-"Christians are compelled to share our faith, I am certain that we don't always do it correctly, but these are troubled times, I believe a message of peace in Christ is in order."

Keep in mind, this isn't the Christianity section either.

On another note, I'm aware of several atheist web sites that are infested by theist trolls and are under constant attack from theist hackers.

Let's not succumb to hypocrisy.

-The asker sounds awfully combative for someone claiming the high road. Just a thought.

I have strong atheist leanings and many of my friends are christians. We respect each others beliefs and do not force our perspective on other people. They also respect the fact that I demand there be empirical proof before I can believe in any religion.

They understand the difference between a faith based orientations as oppossed to one that can be challenged by testing. A faith based orientation does not require proof. Yet so many christians want to present their opinions as irrefutable fact, which it most certainly is not.

I dont have a problem with religious people, it is when you add the term "fanatic" is where my problems begin to arise. You should be able to not have to incorporate "God" into every decision you have

Isn't it a bit holier than thou to assume that anyone with different beliefs must be leading some type of 'wrong' lifestyle?

Atheists, like Christians, have a right to their beliefs and a right to state them. This is not a Christian board, but a board about religion and spirituality.

And if you have never noticed, Atheists are affected in their everyday life by the things Christians say and do. They have a right to defend their position.

There are many different gods/goddesses but dislike is not the same as unproved which I believe all of them are, I have nothing against Jesus of Nazareth, he was a human being who was used by something he could not control after his death and the holy spirit, well I downright just do not believe in that.

I am spiritual in my own way, and, since this is religion and spirituality I have just as much right to be here as you or anyone else.

To slightly misquote Shakespeare "Methinks they do protest too much". Many are seeking answers that they haven't found in their unbelief. They are seeking the happiness that only Gods love can provide but continue to fight against it because they enjoy the "pleasures" of worldly living too much. Even if they only get temporary enjoyment from those "pleasures", they fear that giving them up will take away the only happiness they have. Little do they realize the total peace and deep joy that Gods love can bring to their lives. We can only continue to pray that God will open their hearts that they may truly hear and believe.
Ok bring on the thumbs down, but will stick to my opinion and my belief.

Hi Bob,

You wrote, "I ask questions about G & L persons that lead a life contrary to my and many others spiritual beliefs. Yet they demand that we include them in our fellowships."

I'm a Christian and I find that to be an incredible statement. Once you get rid of all the gays who will be next? I fear that in the end you will be setting in a room by yourself.

Did you bother to look at how often this is asked.
I guess you would only be pleased if the only question allowed was "Isn't Jesus Wonderful?" and the only answer allowed was "Yes, Jesus is Wonderful!"
This is a place to ask questions about religion and if the Fundies had not been total shits and tried to run everybody else out then maybe it would have become a place where different religions could have discussed their beliefs openly.
To bad the Jesus Freaks and Bible Believers were not willing to let that happen.
So go somewhere and read a Jack Chick Tract to yourself or something.
