Just wondering if it's a myth or the truth... Something that doctors made up to help people eat their vegetables or if it will actually help cure horrible vision...

Carrots contain Vitamin A that your body can not synthetize. When you eat some Vitamin A, the molecule is cut and transformed in a way that it is necessary for some of the eye's pigments which make vision possible.

A lack of vitamin A can involve problems of vision. But much of food contain vitamin A (the tomato, the melon, etc).

Not really. Carrots contain vitamin C which in theory help your eyes function but there is nothing specifically special about carrots. This originates from World War 2... Unknown to the Germans the British were using the new development of Radar to locate the German bomber planes and direct their fighters to attack them. To hide, for as long as possible, the fact that they had such advanced Radar capabilities the British circulated the myth that their pilots ate lots of carrots and this improved their eyesight so much that they could see the german planes from a long way off.

Vitamin A does help with vision. carrots do have a lot of vitamin A. But according to health specialists, that anyone with a healthy diet already has enough vitamin A that carrots won't do a thing.

No carrots will not improve your vision significantly. The slight improvement is not even noticeable.
